When I put my flash drive into the USB port, it shows up in my computer. When you go to click on it in My Computer a message pops up and says " Please insert disk into Drive". It is there. Can you please help me fix this problem.
Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X you will need to update/reinstall drivers right click to reinstall drivers if you can see your usb drive but its not working ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts if you need more help with this post a reply
hope this helps you
This didn't fix the problem. :( I don't think it is the USB port though because it says the same thing when I plug it into any computer. I think it has to be something wrong with the Flash drive it self, but thank you for the suggestion.
if its a problem with the usb drive you might resore it to default staus Right click on usb drive select properties you will have an array of options
Select the hardware option then select your drive properties policies
restore defaults
In XP
Right click on your drive select properties then on customize restore Default in W 7
did you try this
if you can see your usb drive but its not working
ports (com&lpt) right click update driver

Or better you could fix the drive to only have one partition like a normal USB key. I don't understand why maxell decided to cripple what seems like a perfectly good USB key by creating the 1k partition (as the first partition) and not making software easily available to repartition it.
