Gateway Media Center PC is on, but there is no picture.

I have an all in one Gatway 610 Media Center PC. I am able to turn on the computer, but there is no picture. The blue light does not stay on. What could be the issue? Thanks in advance.

check out http://www.32oz.com/mirror/Gateway_610/ for how to disassemble and replace the power supple. By the power supply from http://www.skyline-eng.com/ and not from the crooks on ebay. They are the only authorized rebuilders of the power supplies.

I have a 4 and half year old 610 and the video just went dark. I can not make the S video output drive a TV screen and Gateway says that they no longer support this model. If my problem is in the video card, how do I replace it? Is the video driver on the Mother Board? Could it be a burned out back light for the LCD screen?

Thanks in advance for any help you want to provide.

I have a 610XL Gateway Media center. It was working perfectly this morning but this afternoon the display is black. I can hear the system boot to windows but do not get any boot messages at all. Nothing on the display. I know that the system is getting power because again, I can hear it boot to windows (the windows music plays at boot). I am wondering if there is a backlight that I can replace or what the issue could be. Your help will be much apreciated. cheryl.grams@gmail.com Please email me if you know how to correct this issue. Bless you!!

I have been fixing one for a customer. At first I thought that it was the typical burned out powersupply. Delta Electronics has created a replacement. The old REV 00 is 185 watts peak. The new REV01 is 185 nominal. Was the shaggy067 did not take the time to look up is that the 610 is an "All in one" modular monitor/case.
This customers is the first one that I have replace the power supply and it still does not work. I believe the flourescent backer of the LCD is shot. I will not know for sure until I find another one. The S-video works fine, so I am testing it using my projector. Everything works except the lcd panel.

Make sure all the cables are installed in the back of the PC and including the display cable. turn on again and see if that works. If you installed a grafix card be sure you have the integrated uninstalled first. If that is not the problem check the pins on the display cable and make sure none of them are bent. shaggy067

The Gateway 610 uses an AGP graphics slot so any video card with AGP hookup should work fine. The link below is to a parts site for this computer.

Need basic instrux on how to exchange hard drives from one gateway media center 610 to another

take off the cover and unplug the hd from one and put it in the next one, it is only 2 plugs and you can not plug them in wrong it will be a 4 pin power cord coming from the power supply and a data cable, depending on how old your computer is it will be a small cable with a black connector or a larger one that looks like a ribbion either one you can not plug them in the wrong way. The power plug you can put anyone of the extra ones into it! If it fits it will work, depending on if the hardware in the two computers, you most likley will have to repair or reinstall windows!
