Question about Kenmore 96422 / 96424 / 96429 Electric Kitchen Range
Since we bought this new back in 2002, we have had problems with the gas oven not wanting to stay lit for longer than 30 minutes. It makes a loud "poofing" noise when lighting (which to me is scary). After 30 minutes or so of being lit, it will then try to relight 3 times and then will lock out, cannot be restarted until oven has cooled. Not fun when you're trying to bake cookies, roast, etc. Any ideas as to what the probelm can be? We've had Sears here to look at it and they supposedly can't find a problem.
I have the same problem with the same exact model. Any helpful troubleshooting tips would be much appreciated. I'm not sure if this is a heat sensor problem or a problem with the control board.
Anyone have any ideas?
