No button was pressed. I am a recent college grad in computer science - head of my class - so at the risk of being stubborn I am pretty sure it is nothing simple as that as I have tried multiple things. I don't use the remote even as I have programmed my logitech to use the device - but it stays on one input (video 1) and is never changed as I use it for my HTPC. I have tried playing a dvd (switching the sources) as well as the sound fields and nothing seems to have a n effect. =(

Most likely some one hit the wrong button on the remote. Make sure you have the proper device selected and the tv is setup for the proper device input. It is hard to tell you what is exactly wrong due that I do not know the full extend of your system.

SOURCE: Audi but no picture when cable box conected through DAV-X1

It won't work as the DAv can only output to HDMI by bringing singal into the HDMI input.

why wouldn't you send it directly to the TV and Audio to the DAV? I sounds like you don't have an HD box anyway (otherwise why would you use an analogue S-video cable vs component or HDMI). Unless there is a distance issue then go to the TV.

Sounds like your TV's sound output isn't working. Check all the connections and if that doesn't do it, try hooking up some other sound system to the TV to check that it is working properly.

SOURCE: dvd plays only black and white

check the video input cables for any damage or broken part. check either ur tv or the player for any setting against NTSC, PAL or SECAM. Or try the tv with other player or try the player with other tv.

Memorex mvd2047 dvd player - no audio when playing dvd

Regarding the problem with the sound on your DVD player, I would suggest you to make sure the audio cables (red and white) are connected properly to the TV and player.

Also, try using a different set of cables since those ones might not be working and this is why you are not getting audio. On the Memorex remote you will find a mute button, make sure it is not activated.

I don't have a cable box and have hooked my Sony DAV-X1 system directly into the av input jacks on my tv. I can watch and listen to dvd's but the speakers won't work when watching tv.

What are you doing? Note the following:
The only cable you should connect to your TV from your X1 are the video cables
Logic is you want to use the system for sound and your TV for video only
  • If you have an LCD TV use the HDMI connection for video from your DVDs
  • If not the best video is using the component video (red green blue) i.e connect this to your X1 and your TV input
  • If your TV does not have this just use the video out composite (yellow). On the X1 it is indicated as Monitor
The reason why you do not have any audio from the TV is because you have not connected Audio Out from your TV to your X1. Do the following:
  • Identify if your TV has stereo audio out i.e A/V out should have red and white jacks
  • If this is the case connect this to your input on your X1 corresponding to TV
  • If your TV only has one Audio Out jack you need an RCU cable that has one to two pins and you would connect the single pin to your Audio out on the TV and the two (red/white) to your X1)
  • To listen to audio from TV simply set the input or source setting on your X1 to TV

Let know if this resolves your problem

Turtle Beach Ear Force X1 Headset with very low sound output

Try playing the X1 from an iPod or MP3 player. If it works better on that, then the problem is probably the Stereo Splitter Cable connecting the X1 to your Xbox audio outputs. If the X1 sounds bad from the MP3 player too, then you should tell Turtle Beach tech support about this. [email protected].

No surround sound when watching TV

hdmi can only pass pcm 2.0 digital for the separate cables you may try to switch them to another output from the monitor to the receiver or if you can get your hands on a spd-if cable (one single fiberoptic cable that will go as high as 5.1 dolby surround)
