V6604AU compaq sound driver for xp

Hi,

Can you do manual install of your sound card driver? I believe this issue will be resolved once you complete the manual install of your sound driver. Also, the sound driver for this laptop is - Conexant High Definition Audio Driver.

0. Download the corresponding file and unzip.

01. Click START
02. Click RUN
03. Type "devmgmt.msc" in the prompt and click "OK"
04. In other devices>> You will see two nos of "Audio Device on HD Audio Bus"
05. Right Click the first one and Click "disable"
06. In other devices>> right click the second Audio Device on ........
07. Click "update driver"
08. Select "No, not this time" and Click "Next"
09. Select "Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)" and Click "Next"
10. Select "Don`t search. I will choose" and Click "Next"
11. From the list scroll down and select "Sound, video and game controller" and Click next
12. Click "Have Disk.."
13. Click "Browse" and choose this folder
14. Select the ".inf? file from the extracted directory and Click on "Open"
15. Click "OK"
16. Click "Next"
17. A menu appears saying "Installing .... Do you want to continue?" Click "YES"

You'll have to provide me with the exact video card and audio device in your computer.
On XP, Start, Run, dxdiag.
This will provide you with a detailed synopsis of what hardware your computer has.
Get the model number of the video card and of the audio device and I'll find drivers for you.

Go to Compaq website enter the model of your notebook in this case v6604au and find the audio driver download the driver to your notebook but before you install it, make sure you do have any programs running in the back ground.

go to your manufacturers website and download the drivers there, that should help you

it is surely driver problem, go and get al the rivers of your system or download drivers of your system from the respective website
