Hi,

Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue might be Hardware related.

All the USB Ports use a common driver. As all the other ports are working fine, its clear that the issue is not with the USB Driver.

It very much looks like the port which you have mentioned above is faultly.

Hence, it would be better to contact the authorized service center to have a detailed check on the Computer.

Please feel free to contact for further assistance.

Hope this helps.

Device Manager is where you want to go to see if something is wrong with it. You know also, I'm not sure if any other Toshiba has this built in it. Like on some HP, they have a button just to the top of the touchpad. If you hit it, it turns off the touchpad. Hit it again, its back on.
I’m pretty it doesn’t. If the button is not there, then it might be just your touchpad is dead or loose cable on the inside.

SOURCE: replacing keyboard on Toshiba Satelite L300

I'm assuming you've already managed to lift the keyboard to expose the cable and ribbon connector on the motherboard.

As you can see the ribbon looks as though it just slot into what looks like a rectangular block.

The top and rear of the connector block is one piece and needs to be CAREFULLY lifted, it only comes up and eight of an inch or so. This releases the ribbon. The block stays in situ.

Here's a Youtube video which shows a similar connector :-

It may be the same as yours,

Here's another youtube clip describing the kind of connector I tried abover.

Toshiba Canvio 2TB USB 3.0... wireless mouse problem

Get a USB 3.0 Port hub at walmart or any place that sells electronics. They normally have 4 usb ports on the hub and that should allow you to have both the mouse and the hardrive running since the hub would be plugged into your usb 3.0 port on your computer.

My mouse doesn't work with my mac for some reason. I tried new batteries and i tried putting it on my friend's mac and it worked and i tried switching the USB hub and still it doesnt work. it was working...

Try bypassing the USB hub and plugging the receiver directly into a USB port on the computer. Sometimes devices won't recognize properly if they're going through a hub.

Q: Troubleshooting: Basic Mouse/Trackball Problems trnsp.gif This article covers some common reasons why a Logitech mouse may cease to function.

trnsp.gif This article applies to the following products:
All Logitech mice/trackballs
Cause:
There are a number of reasons why a mouse or trackball may suddenly stop working. These include the following:
  • defective hardware
  • system configuration changes
  • wireless detection issues
  • hardware connection failures
Solution:
It is possible that the mouse or trackball has failed. A failed unit can be described as a product that works for a period of time then suddenly stops working. Verify that you have not made any changes to the system that might coincide with the failure of the product. For example, if you moved the connection of the device to another port to add another device to the system or if you added new software or made other system changes. Also, verify the device has not become disconnected from the system by checking to see the device is correctly connected. Once you have verified the above potential causes for failure, proceed to the following steps.
1. Wireless Detection Issues
If you are using a wireless mouse or trackball, you should first check to see if you have a connection issue. Please see Knowledge Base article 970 for information on diagnosing and resolving detection issues.
2. Port Connection Issues
If you have concluded that the issue is not due to a detection issue and the pointing device has just stopped working, try the device in another port. If you were using it on the PS/2 port, try moving it to the USB port if you mouse supports it. If you have another USB port, try that other port. If you were connected through a hub, try connecting directly to the system ports to verify the hub has not failed.
3. If the device doesn't work on a second port, try it on a second system, if possible. If it fails on a second system, then the device probably is defective. You may also want to try a second mouse in the same port that the failed mouse was using.
4. If the second mouse does not function in the same port, verify the system port has not failed. Contact the system manufacture for more information on the status of the system port.
5. If either the mouse fails on a second system or the second mouse works in the same port, then you know the Logitech mouse is defective. If this is the case, please contact to inquire about a warranty replacement.

Chick and wheel works but mouse won't move pointer

  1. Try to connect the Mouse receiver to a different USB port. Then, check the behavior of the device.

Also, try to connect the receiver to a USB port on the back of the computer. The ports that are located on the back of the computer typically have more power available. Note Bypass any port replicators, USB hubs, KVM switches, and so on. Connect the receiver directly to the port.
  2. Replace the batteries, and determine whether this resolves the issue. Make sure that you have inserted both the required batteries into the wireless pointing device and that they are positioned in the correct direction. After replacing the batteries, press the reset, or resync button on the mouse or on the receiver.
  3. If the issue continues to occur, test the mouse on a different computer in a different environment. If you can replicate the problem in a different environment, you may have a defective device.
  4. If the mouse buttons are recognized, and the pointer won't move, you may have a defective device. However, the best way to determine whether the device is defective or damaged is to try the device on a different computer.

Toshiba Wireless Mouse

Your mouse might have had an internal receptor problem, meaing it can not read the signal from the adapter. This sometimes happens with wireless products. Contact Toshiba and they should give you a new one free of charge since it seems it was a faulty product. Rate me if this helps!
