HP Pavilion a1330e Audio driver problem I reformatted the harddrive to get rid of a virus all is working but no sound I can not find the driver online HP keeps trying to get me to pay for drive detective to fix this problem

You probably have to reinstall the audio drivers. If u can find the cd ur laptop came w/, they should be on there, otherwise search the web for a download.

Sound isnt working on computer

try reinstalling the audio driver..
that should solve your problem
also try to see if te windows audio service is running or not

through

run->services.msc

check for windows audio

if it does not solve please message back

Disk drive "disappeared"

Hit run then type chkdsk C: to find your harddrive, when found also check BIOS if it recognizes the drive, then check the device manager looking for the hard drive and Any exclaimation mark that point to problems. then if it still does show up run add hardwareapp and let the plug and play system find the drive , id that fails then you either need a new drive or have a virus ,need to remove the virus , or reformat this harddrive and re install the system

Go to your device manager list, right-click my computer icon on the desktop then go to properties. Go to hardware tab, click device manager, go and click "sound and video controllers" to see if anything is with a yellow question mark, if there is you need to uninstall the one with the question mark, if not close that window and proceed to right-clicking the volume or speaker icon on your tray (near the system clock on the task bar), right-click and select "adjust audio properties", go to audio tab and select the right audio device from the list you can also see there other playback properties you can try and troubleshoot from there...

No system sound on my HP Pavilion dv1000

Have you checked device manager? You may try reinstalling the driver through device manager? Check the audio properties in sound. you May be try running a virus/spyware scan. When something suddenly goes out its either dead, corrupt driver or virus/spyware/highjacker etc. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
