They do stay on for a while after switch, that is OK. Dim and out of focus may indicate that the output voltage is low. If replacing the battery does not fix it, then the problem may be in the power supply circuit.

Binoculars power on, then immediately off NIGHT OWL OPTICS NIGHT VISION BINOCULARS NOXB5

Hello there. Are you pointing your NV binoculars at bright light, if so, please stop. Therefore, if you are not then possibly the iit (image intensifier tube) is bad, or the auto shut-off is also shorted. Night Owl Optics are in El Paso, TX. Call Night Owl up, they won't tell how to fix it. But they will tell where to send it. "It is proporitary" which mean, they are the one to fix it. Sorry, stewbison.

I have a pair of Bushnell 20x50 Powerview getting double vision. Can focus each side by themsleves but not together.

Sorry to say but it sounds as if the binoculars have suffered a jolt.

All bincoculars are collimated at the factory so they will focus together at a "central point".

Some Binocular dealers will check the collimnation prior to shipping.. and make adjustments as needed..

If the internal prisms were shifted out of place or the frame was bent.. chances are it will be cheaper to replace then to repair... if not impossible to repair.

Inspect the frame.. to check for any debris or loose fasteners.. but I am afraid that these will need to be replaced.

Best of luck

Try grabbing the binoculars in both hands and twisting the body in the opposite direction of the double vision until the images coincide.

Hi - This called the diopter adjustment which compensates for small differences in focus between the left & right eyes.

See the following web page for adjusting :

Double vision

The distance between the centers of the eyepieces of your binocular must be the same as the distance between your pupils. This distance is adjusted as follows: 1. Focus on a distant object. 2. Pivot the two halves of your binocular farther or closer apart until you can see a single unobstructed, circular field of view. Make sure to focus on a distant object when you do this because when you focus on a close object you always see two slightly overlapping circular fields. Your binocular may have a scale on the top, between the eyepieces, to help you remember this setting.
