Philips GoGear SA3245 (4 GB) Digital Media Player Can I download songs form I Tunes to this device?

You can download music for the GoGear from any reputable website, iTunes. it is just a case of plugging in the USB cable, go to My Computer and Look for the Philips Removable Drive.

open it up, go to the Music Folder and add your MP3 songs.

To add videos to this player you need to use the software Philips provided. It's a bit complicated to use so follow the instructions carefully. The software will convert the videos to a Philips format to enable you to add them to the Video Folder. You can't just add a file as this will not work, it needs to be converted.
Hope this helps you.

Its keeps shutting down when i plug it into the usb

Here's your problem: there is no problem. Unless you can't access it from the computer like you do a normal thumb drive, this is normal. It doesn't let you listen to music while plugged into the computer. Sorry. It should work if you remove it from your computer correctly (Safely Remove).

What music sites are compatible with this unit?

Limewire, Rhapsody's Mp3-Only service, and any music service that does not copyright-encrypt their music. Copyright encryption is fairly common now, but it is a dying trend - it has not saved the music industry, and makes illegitimate use of services such as Limewire attractive - it has also frustrated many mp3 player owners.
