My girlfriend has a PSAF3U-0NR00V Toshiba laptop and the monitor gave out. Any way to get a replacement without buying a whole computer?

Yes, you can change just the LCD screen. In this case, for Toshiba PSAF3U-0NR00V Satellite A205-S5804 you need part number V000061680 which ranges around $150.
Here is a parts seller for reference: http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/part.aspx?partnumber=V000061680&mfg=OEM&sdevicetype=Laptop

I cant remember my master password so my computer wont start up. i dont know how it happened but when i turn it on it asks for a password before it boots up. its a toshiba satellite model number...

You can remove a BIOS password by removing the CMOS battery for about 1/2 hour. Find a manual on your system to help, if you don't know where it is.

This is a known issue with some newer Toshiba laptops. The laptop can set the BIOS password on its own and I believe it happens because of a glitch in the BIOS.

Be sure to go to the Toshiba website and get all the updates for your model, once you're back in.

Strange problem. psaf3u-0nr00v Toshiba Satelite A205 not sure if it was dropped or what. I have taken it apart and reseated everything. Upon depressing the power button the blue light for power comes one,...

okay, pull the ram, hard drive and cd/dvd rom out. then power up the unit. see if you get a bios screen. if you do. then good. let it keep going till it says No Operating System Found. it might even beep and tell you Ram has changed press f2 to resume. go ahead. then reseat your ram one stick at a time and continue this process. in the event you reach a spot where you get the reboot issue stop and back up. whatever you added is the problem. if you get everything working correctly and you tap f2 or esc to reach your bios screen and in the bios everything is happy. then the next step is to verify if your hard drive has crashed physically or just has a hiccup in the software. in the bios there should be a hard drive test run it. it may take 2 hrs but thats fine it will let you know if the drive is bad. in the event it passes fine, then boot again and tap f8 till you get to the screen to load into safe mode. if you can get into safe mode good. from there click MY COMPUTER, right click select properties on that. go to tools and select disk check. select both checkboxes and restart your unit. allow it to run and move bad clusters to clean areas. if you are up and running GREAT! if not, you may need to replace the drive and request your Restore disks if you dont already have them

GOOD LUCK!

Easiest thing to do is to try and boot into safe mode with command prompt and then run a repair.

Here's a guide.
