Canon SST and IR2016J firmware or BOOT ROM flash I supposed what is the problem and I also supposed what is the solution with DOWNLOAD STANDBY mesage but WHERE CAN I FIND SST and IR2016J firmware or BOOT ROM flash? I have no Canon support here so I must find it on the net or else???? Thanks in advance [email protected]

System software programs to be downloaded need to be registered in the SST.
The system software programs are registered with the names listed below.

[System Software Registration Procedure]
Start the PC.
Start SST.
Click the "Register Firmware" button.
Select the drive in which the system was downloaded
Then click the "SEARCH" button.


A list of system software programs contained is displayed.

This machine does not allow two or more system software programs to be downloaded at the same time. If two or more software programs need to be upgraded,
register and download them one by one.

When the system software program registration result appears, click the OK button.

Connection

1) Turn off the main power switch of this machine, and then disconnect the cables connected to this machine.
2) Connect USB connector on the back of this machine to the PC using the USB cable
Downloading Procedure

1) Turn on the power switch of the PC and start SST.
2) When the power switch is turned on, the Found New hardware Wizard appears. Click "Cancel".
3) Select "MFP" in "Target Selection", and then select "iR2020" in "Model List".
4) Double-click the "System" folder in "Model List" to check the system software version. Select "USB" in "Interface", and then click the "START" button.
5) Turn on the power switch of the host machine.
6) Press the following keys on the control panel to enter the service mode.
Additional Functions Key > 2 Key > 8 Key > Additional Functions Key
7) Using the plus (+) or minus (-) key, select "#DOWNLOAD".
8) Press the OK key on the control panel to place the host machine in the downloading wait mode ("#DOWNLOAD CONNECTED" is displayed).
9) Press the OK button on the SST screen displayed on the display of the PC.
10) When connection is complete, Click the OK button in SST MENU.

It is a Fax machine also and presumably connected to a phone line.

Disconnect the phone and disconnect the printer from the power. Wait 2 minutes, Press the ON button for 10 seconds, THEN plug it back in and power it up. Having said that, this says it is a Boot ROM error and needs flashing with a laptop connected to it.

This will happen when the machine does not read the boot ROM properly, or the Boot ROM is blank.
the resolution is simple and guaranteed.

Connect your laptop and use service support tool version to flash the BOOT ROM of this device with at least version 60.02. Once this is done, the machine will completely boot.

hi; first it can be a power supply problem the Rom was not powered properly; check your power supply card. second, the rom boot is damadged; to ccorrect this problem you must have the SST for this model its expensive; and the firmware for IR2016j verion 60 or newer. if you have SST you can copy the firmware from other machine that work fine. good luck

you have to upgrade and install system software tool (SST) in the copier.

This means the printer booted in download mode. There are problem with the firmware.

You will need the support tool and a software cd for that model.

Please consult further with your manual on updating firmware or call the Canon tech to get the firmware updated.

since this is a new install- first try and remove & re-seat BOOT ROM -then re start printer.
you may have to re-flash the BOOT ROM

if all fails- flash the machine to the latest system software. good luck
