Fixed DM board, TV powered on but no Video

I fixed the DM board by putting in new capacitors and tv started but much to my dismay there was sound but no video. Might I have disconnected something to do with video when fixing. If so where should I be looking to make sure everything is connected.

Thanks

Mitsubishi WS-65511 has flashing timer light but will not turn on.

I used to have a WS55909 and had this problem. The light is supposed to blink for one minute while the DM (digital module) boots up after a power loss. If the light continues to blink indefinitely, there is a problem with that board. The DM power supplies are known to have faulty capacitors on these models and will need to be replaced. If I remember correctly, there are (7) 1000uf 25v capacitors and they should be desoldered from the board and replaced with 35v ones. Note that my TV model already had 35v caps but changing them solved the problem: electrolytic capacitors have a much shorter life than other components.
The DM is on the left side and is where ANT-DTV and the IR repeaters plug in. The power supply is the board above the main DM board inside the DM case.
If this sounds too technical for you, get a new TV because a repair guy will charge you more than the TV is worth. In other words you could get a (30-46") LCD TV for the same price.

Mitsubishi WS-65611 Projection TV When I turn

The problem is common to Mitsubishi projection TVs. Technicians dubbed it as the "blinking green light of death" due to its notoriety.
Here's the basic troubleshooting of the said problem.

  1. Make sure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.
  2. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV.
  3. Press the SYSTEM RESET button and hold for 10 seconds. Proceed if the problem still exist.
  4. Press and hold POWER and MENU buttons simultaneously for 20 seconds. Proceed if the problem still exist.
  5. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours.
If you are still having the problem, either of the following is causing the problem:
  1. DM Board Capacitors have FAILED
  2. Power supply failure
  3. EEPROM Board failure
If the capacitors are bad on the DM board, you can replace it by yourself and save a couple of bucks. The capacitors will cost you about $4 or less compared to $200 when you ask a technician to do it for you. Just insist that the 4-1000uF, 16V capacitors be replaced They usually insist to replace the DM board and cost you $500-$800. These are the capacitors on the DM board with the bulge indicating they are bad.

Same thing with the power supply. You can check the filter capacitors for this kind of problem.

Please let me know if you decide to do the repair yourself and need the guidance to do it.

Green light flashes continuously and you cant turn TV on.

Got nothing but bad news for you. The Digital Module is not booting up. A common problem for that unit. The only proper way to fix it is to have a reputable tv shop pull the entire chassis and ship it back to Mitsubishi for rebuild. It is a very costly repair. Usually in the neighborhood of $700 to $800.

Hey There,

It sounds like you either have a bad DM power board or a few caps (capacitor) are blown on your board. If you are comfortable with soldering then you will need to replace your Caps which are 1000uf 16V 105C and I would replace all of them ($1.25 ea). I found this great PDF online to help (this is not your model# but it expalins where and what your DM Power board is located) If not, Sears Parts carries DM Boards for your Mitsubishi - call in your Make/Model# and tell them you believe your DM power board has gone bad. The board should cost no more than $50-$70. Replace the board and let the TV blink for about 30-45 secs and it should turn on. If you decide to take it to an electronics shop, unless you know the owner, prepare to spend anywhere from $800-$1100..

Good Luck and Happy Holidays..
