DVD plays choppy - sound is worse but visual is alittle jumpy too

ok it can either be that your PC doesn't have enough capacity to read your DVD correctly or it could be that you have dust on the lense of the disc reader and all you have to do is get a lense brush. I hope I could help

DVD audio

You need to install a DVD decoder. Media player is horrible on it's own, but works great if you have other DVD decoding software. Try filehippo.com for the software.

Audio and video issues when trying to play a dvd

Im not an expert on this, but it sounds like a codex problem and you need updated codex software. You can get free stuff off the web but I wouldnt know where to look. Another option is to download another DVD player program to play the DVD instead of using WIndows Media. There are some free ones on the web, but I'd recommend spending 20 bucks or so on one so you dont get loaded down with adware.
