Question about Maytag Neptune MAH5500B Front Load Washer

I can't unlock the door

The door is locked and won't open and the door lock icon isn't even lit up when the door is locked. The letters keep blinking the letters "FL" on the timer screen after about a minute after I try to start or pause the wash cycle? What do I do?

    I have the same problem. I did theh door unlock steps but no dice. I had to remove the screws and pull the tab. So now what? Should everything work now? Do I need to call Maytag?

    I went through the sequence to unlock the door with the buttons and it didn't work. I took off the screws to pull the tab and got the door opened. Now when I go to run the machine I hit the cycle I want and hit start. The machine clicks (as usual) and the door lock light comes on for about 2 seconds then it clicks again and the lock light goes out. The machine doesn't start the cycle after this. I also saw a PF error code once when I was trying to start the machine.



    Any ideas?

    I have the same problem (FL message and door won't unlock). Service mode procedure did not unlock the door. I removed dispenser, but don't see anything for manul door release. Where is it?Please advise. Thank you

    same exact prob. door latched, light not on and door won't open. no luck so far with the listed solutions and i can't find the manual release.

Fencer, you probably have a bad door lock switch. There was a technical bullitin out by Maytag regarding this (TS740). The deal is that the plunger of the switch is depressed but the contacts don't close. The machine control board senses the door is not locked and won't send the signal to unlock it. You can try to put the machine in the service mode by pressing delicates and heavy soils together for 3 seconds. Advance to the board output tests by then pressing rinse. After that press the max extract key to lock the door and the xtra rinse key to unlock the door. See if it works for you. You may want to call Maytag and inquire about the service bullitin, maybe you can get it covered. There is a manual door release in the dispenser section. The pull tab should be toward the front. You may have to remove the screws and remove the dispensor to get at it. Catriver...post back.

Vw golf mk4 my rear passenger door willnot open with central locking key system. i can't even open it from the inside, pull the door handle and the lock pin rises but door won't open. i believ
This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

WFW94HEXW door won't unlock and Door Lock isn't lit
if you machine is warranty you must call to the whirlpool, and get the assistance via online chat. However you must wait about 180 seconds since you did the command STOP, and stop the motor, fi the water level is higher must be drain before the latch door unlock.
2) if do not obey press and hold END OF CYCLE, wait about 10seconds
3) reset the machine unplugged from wall by 45 minutes, and then plug again, and turn on and unlock the door

Door ajar light on and locks keep locking and unlocking
need to gain access to the BCM to see which door the module is seeing open. the locks won't lock with key in ignition and a door is "open"

I need a diagram of the locking mechanism in my 2001 nissan sentra so that i can use a slim jim to unlock the passenger side door.
I don't have a diagram of the door but if you slip the slim Jim in over the top of the outside door handle it should catch on the latch bar. If you are doing this because the door won't open from the interior handle or the outside handle the problem most likely isn't the lock. The way that handle connects to the release it is held in place with a piece of plastic that breaks fairly easy. If that piece breaks the interior door handle won't activate the unlock function when pulled and you will have a heck of a time getting the door opened so you can get inside the panel to do the repair.

If you mean the light in the wall control is blinking you need to press and hold the button with the lock icon for 3 seconds.

WHAT IS DU?
DU is door unlock error - A Door Unlock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to unlock the door 6 times before displaying the error.

Solutions -
  • Door Lock Mechanism broken.
  • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly for foreign objects
  • Check Wire Harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)

    I held down the clear button for three seconds, it unlocked but still showed the lock button lit. It began beeping over and over.
