Question about Compaq Presario 5360 (117744-004) PC Desktop
I have a Compaq Presario 5360 I would like to use it for my childs games, but my Cd Rom is not working I go to prperties and it say that there is no usable space the drive is full. is this possible? Some one recommend that I reset the computer back to factory settings. I have tried this and it continues to say "E:\is not accesible The device is not ready. Then it asks you to retry and still nothing.
Replace your drive with a known working drive and see if this clears up your problem. If it does not then windows has been sabtosed by virus spyware or adware and you will probably have to reload windows again after a good reformat of your disk. If you have a restore disk it would be better. You will lose all your info so save it using either the internet or a drive like USB of some type.

Well as my collegue has suggested a CD Rom is only a read only memory, it doesnt has any storage space unless it is a Write, and if there is no cd in the rom than it will not be accesible.but if you insert a cd and it gives the same error than try cleaning the drive with a cd-cleaner or if persist than try lodging ur problem again and we will try to help you

A CD-ROM drive is a read-only drive. It will always says there is 0 usable space, since you cannot write to it. You need to have a CD-Writer in order to add content to either a CD-R or CD-RW disc. You would get the "not accessible" error message if there is no media in the drive. If you place a disc in the drive, that message should go away.

SOURCE: Replace CD-Rom Drive
solution: open front blue magnetic case door, look on either side of the power button, there are finger holes in the other blue cover.
lift out from bottom to top. this cover comes off, not the whole
case. inside find tabs next to cd drive, squeeze and pull out. note: the side sliders were they come out, they will come off the
cd drive when removed. it is easier to replace the top drive by removing the bottom drive, put in the top half way, then put bottom back in half way and slide them in together.
voice of experience. hope this helps
