Maybe the problem with your computer is that it does not have sound/ audio drivers. Thptey might have been corrupt by a virus or mistakenly deleted. This is what you need to do. At this point I am assuming that your computer is on and functioning properly. Press Windows Key + R (and type CMD to open the command prompt and then inside command prompt, type the following as it is

SYSTEMINFO

then press enter. At this point you will have to look for System Model on the list and write it down, Then go to the internet and download the drivers for *******(the model of your system, the one you just wrote down). Probably you will have alot of sites where you will download the audio drivers for your computer. After that then you can install them into your computer using the Setup.exe found in the file downloaded, and follow the simple instructions. This will fix up your sound

Locked out osb by computer virus which resides in video memory

Video memory should be very similar to a memory resident virus, but I have never experienced one that attacks video memory specifically (yet). If you have a windows OS, then you can try the the following:

  • 1

Start your computer in safe mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly as you turn it on. Even if your computer can still start normally, a memory virus could make the following steps take a very long time under normal settings.

  • 2

Run the Windows Malware Removal Tool. To do this, c

Click the Start menu and click "Run". Type "MRT" (with no quotes) when an input box appears and then hit "Enter". This starts the Malware Removal Tool. If you encounter problems, you can download a replacement for free from Microsoft (see Resources).

  • 3

Click once on the "Next" button.

  • 4

Click once on the "Full Scan" selection. The "Full Scan" offers a better chance than the "Quick Scan" of removing a memory virus.

  • 5

Click once on the "Next" button. You may wait up to an hour for the scan to complete.

  • 6

Follow the steps that appear on the screen to remove the memory virus.

  • 7

Click once on the "Finish" button.

  • 8

    Restart your computer.

  • Hope this helps,
    Gill
