there are several TSB's pertaining to the anti-theft system. the best option is to see what part of the anti-theft system is not working. There should be codes in the theft module. you will need a high end scan tool to get these. anything less than $1,500 will not get these codes. You will likely have to get a GM dealer or a good independent shop to help you with this. Once the problem is resolved the anti theft can be relearned if necessary and you should be fine until the next thing goes wrong...

Contact local GM dealer to deactivate or repair the problem. That will be the quickest way to get you going.

The correct battery size for your vehicle is the "35" case size. Try to get a battery that has at least 600 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) with a three-year "free exchange" period. Your local auto supply stores should have this battery for about 90 bucks, give or take. Always match the original battery to the new one (note polarity position, for example). Some vehicles assembled in Canada are given optional batteries (usually slightly larger in size) for handling extreme cold conditions.

If possible, install a memory-saver before disconnecting the old battery to preserve radio presets (and anti-theft codes) as well as ECU data.

After installing the new battery, have the charging system checked to ensure that the alternator is charging properly.

should be able to call the dearlership to get a code to reset the antitheft system unless u know it

Open ,and shut the doors,and the hood,and the trunk,then set the anti-theft,leave it set for 5 minutes,then disarm the anti-theft,and then try and start the vehicle.

try locking and unlocking the car with the remote, maybe a anti-theft issue?? what do you mean" tries to start?" either the engine turns over or it doesnt. if it turns over, but wont run, thats another story.

the alternator has a circuit in it that illuminates the battery light on the dash.that circuit is most likely at fault but because the battery went dead once i would think your alternator is just about at the end of it's useful life.

You must go through your local honda dealer, (usually parts department) give them the numbers off the labels on the radio, along with the VIN number of the car. may have to prove ownership. They can call Honda and get that information for you. Process is alot easier if you someone that works in the parts department, if not the honda parts department, then another parts department at another car dealer.

This happened to me. It usually happens when the mechanic takes out your battery. It resets the radio, I think it might have something to do with the anti-theft system.

I wouldn't take the car to the dealer to get the radio code, but to a local auto repair shop. When I took my car to the dealer to have them remove the radio to get the "four digit code" they wanted to charge me $100. So, I went to a local shop, and they removed the radio, punched in the code, FREE of charge.
