Just plug the power cable into the wall then connect the video cable to the video port on the back of your computer. All new monitors are plug-and-play which means your computer will configure it'self. If your monitor comes with an installation cd it will be a good idea to install it so you can take advantage of all the features you new monitor offer.

I installed a new AGP video card on my Optiplex GX260, when the computer is plugged in, I can hear the fan going but it does not boot up, help?

Unplug the computer, Check if the cable connections to everything, reseat, you may have inadvertently disloged a connection when you installed the card. wait 30 seconds or so, plug in, reboot. You say the monitor is fine, what do you see on the monitor?

After about 30 minutes the computer freezes. I just recently installed a new monitor with the drivers. I have disabled the power saver, hibernate, and anything that could cause the computer to enter sleep...

If all of this just started happening after installing the new monitor, then it's probably the drivers that were installed for your monitor conflicting with your computer. Try deleting the monitor's drivers by right-clicking 'My Computer' and selecting 'Properties'. Then, select the Hardware tab and go into Device Manager. Find the Monitors section in the list of devices and click the plus sign beside it to expand the node. Right-click the monitor there and click 'Uninstall' to remove it. Use another monitor and see if the problem still persists. If not, then you know there's a problem with the new drivers for your monitor. You'll need to contact the manufacturer to get updated drivers for it.

My desk top is turning from a white screen to pink

What operating system do you have? If it is vista or 7 and you just put in new updates, that might be a problem. If you installed a new game or hooked up a new piece of hardware also.
For some unknown reason, V and7 have vidoe issues. Check if there is a new driver for your video card installed or there is a new update for it. Just go to microsoft update and check recent doownloads. Also go to your manufacturer and check for updates.
If there was something new installed, (hardware) go to your control panel and uninstall the software for it.
Check your connections on the display, and setting on the monitor itself.
Other than that, eihter the video card or the monitor might have gone south, and in that case, buy a new one.
If you have an old monitor kicking around, hook that up first. Thats the easyist wayto the root of the problem .
Remember, to always restart your comp everytime you change any software, either installing or uninstalling somthing.
cheers and good luck

Attempting to install tft lcd monitor on new processer, have intall disc, but monitor will not come on ????

Hello.

Be certain that the install disc software works with your operating system. What specific monitor and your operating system (Windows 7, etc.).

Also, be certain that the monitor cable is connected to a USB port. Try another port.

When you said "not come on" do you mean no power or a dark screen ?

Try your monitor on another PC to see if monitor problem.

Hope this helps.

No image on onitor dell desktop -

if you have no image on the monitor when you hook monitor to other pc and you installed the video drivers for monitor and still no image then you got either a bad power cable for your monitor or your monitor is shot...get a new monitor... try testing again with a different power cable... if still the same... then monitor is shot... replace it...

I have a Gateway GT5056, no monitor will work.

The video card you have is integrated into the motherboard. You would have to buy a whole new motherboard to fix the problem. It would almost be cheaper to buy a new computer though.

Montior in Sleep mode

Take out the newly installed memory chip... If your sure its compatable with the motherboard, reseat it correctly into it's slot and fire up the computer. OR try rebooting with just the old memory installed. Monitor blackouts happen when the incorrect Memory is installed OR when the Memory is not seated properly.
stop chasing video and monitor problems...... :)

Black Blotches appear on my monitor

3 most likely failure points:

Monitor failing: install known good monitor.

Video chipset or video card failing: install new vidcard.

Cables loose/pins damaged: tighten connections/replace cable (or vidcard if pins damaged)

Hard to see some words on sites when using my new monitor

Hello!

Please install the driver of your monitor, the CD is enclosed in the monitor from the vendor. If no CD you find the drivers at the Philips website in their support and downloads. After installing adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor.

Install also the driver of you computer specifically on the motherboard drivers, please install that in series from Chipset upto the last. The CD/DVD is also enclosed to your system.

If not solve then maybe you can claim warranty of your monitor.

best regards, melnavz
