How does the usb work (for reading movie clips from an external hdd?) can't get it to work.

When you go to the File Explorer ( an icon on the lower bar showing a set of FileFolders inside of a support holder (yellow folders/ with a blue holder Icon) Left click on the ICO and all of the attached devices will show up on the desktop screen. If the external hard drive is showing up (could be Drive G or H for example) it is connected, however if the attached drive was not formatted the drive will not open for business. New attached drives need to be partitioned and formatted prior to use.

Connect the PSP to your PC with a USBcable. 3. Press the "home" button on thePSP --> atthe lower left of the screen you can see the home button. 4. Use the left-right directional buttons tofind "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USBConnection" on the PSP. 5. Press the "X" button, your PSPshould display "USB Connection". 6. Please wait until your computer tells youthat a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic harddrive, usually E: or F: 7. Having trouble synching with gpx ml638b...

If this problem occurs then your ML648B needs to be formatted.

1. Connect your ML648B to your computer with Windows XP or later.
2. By default your computer will recognize ML648B as GPX MTP Device. Press the POWER button from top of your ML648B, to change it to USB mode connection. You will also see USB on the screen of ML648B.
3. ML648B will now mount 2 drives, one as Tools (as CD-Drive) and second as Removable Disk (Drive) – under My Computer on your Windows Desktop.
4. Right click your mouse and then select the Format option. When the Format Removable Disk window appears select the Start button to start formatting your MP3 player.

I had the same problem and struggled with it for some time. I forgot the format feature on the device itself and kept formatting from my pc. This won't work.

The solution:

1. Unhook your device from the pc by pulling out the USB cable.
2. Click the "Menu" button 1 time (found on the back of your NW-E105 player).
- This will show "Display"
3. Click the " |<< " button 3 times (the button to rewind track).
- This will show "Format"
4. Click the Play/Stop button 1 time.
- This will show "Format: N"
5. Click the " |<< " button again 1 time.
- This will show "Format: Y>
6. Click the Play/Stop button 1 time (wait for "really?" prompt), click it again.

Now your device is formatted and will play the files you add to it.
