I tried to say this in the beginning, but he was determined to crack the case, lol. I figured out it was the power supply and had an extra one within specs of tv and it has worked ever since

Are you trying to take it apart because it won't turn on or does briefly? If so, it is not an internal problem like somebody is guessing on here. I metered my power supply and it was putting off low voltages. Don't assume just because you have a solid green light on the supply that it works. Replace the power supply and you will be good.

Lay the saw on its side with the screw in the handle facing up and battery removed... remove screw along the two half's of the saw.... you will see a seam where the left and right side meet... once screws are removed ( make sure you remember what screw goes where, there may be different sizes) lightly pry apart incase you missed a hidden screw, I'd so remove it... disconnect old broken switch and install new one... may have to order the part in

Tip

Some have reported problems taking apart the very common WHITE DirecTV remotes. ...

Hi.This is a guide to repair dodgy remote control buttons. This procedure is about sorting out dodgy buttons. If you remote does not go at all, they following may not help I will work several times generally, although some silicon/carbon contacts can become RS This procedure also works if you have a remote with coffee, coke, or other beverage spilt on it

You will need

  1. A med or thin guitar plectrum(pic)
  2. Methylated spirits
  3. Lint free cloth(tea towel will do).

Now I will take you through opening and cleaning the remote keypad.

  1. Remove clip on cover and batteries
  2. Slip the guitar pic under the edge of the remote.
  3. Run it around whilst gently levering the cases apart
  4. It will open with some patient effort and then pretty much fall to pieces

If the remote HAS HAD A DRINK..... wash all parts in warm mildly soapy(dishwash in kitchen sink). DRY PCB IN THE SUN, or on TOP OF A TABLE LAMP.
Dont dry the plastic casings this way... they can melt!! Just leave them in the open air
  1. Clean the pcb/contact board by gently wiping with the cloth moistened with metho
  2. Clean the silicon rubber button contact pads.
  3. Be sure that no bits of lint or residue are left on either the pcb or the contact rubbers.
  4. Let dry for 15 mins to be sure no condensate moisture or metho is left on boards or button assly
  5. Reassemble by layering parts and clip together
  6. check that terminals are not corroded. Use an emery nail file to buff them up if there is corrosion. Spray contacts with CRC2-26 or WD40
  7. Reinsert batteries(fresh ones) and test on appliance. You can also see a remotes Infrared LED flashing when it is working by viewing it with a a phone camera, or camcorder

This process will cure most dodgy button problems. If they are still not good, try the process again.... or a new rubber contact sheet may need to be fitted. In the case of universal remotes, cost will probably dictate buying a new one anyway.Good luck and go FixYa!!

If your remote still has problems there are yet other cures. I will post more as time allows. ;)

How do I separate the field case from the reciprocating part of a Craftsman reciprocating saw model 900271261

You have to remove the big rubber boot on the end of the saw to get at the screws that hold the gear case on the field case. First remove the shoe off the nose then, you may need help here, pull the boot off the gear case. Some come off easy, some have to be helped off with a long screwdriver prying up at sticking points until the boot comes off. After that, remove the four screws holding the two cases together.

Having trouble removing the motor from the bosch table saw. i have removed the four black screws from the black housing but it does not want to seperate from the aluminum housing. it will turn seperate...

tilt the saw head and then use a screwdriver to gently pry apart. the bearings in the housings are keeping it from coming apart or the armature and or field are melted causing this, either way the screwdriver trick will work.

How to change battery in keyless entry remote

For a 2008 Prius the "Best Solution" and "#2" are WRONG! If you pry it appart, that does not release the battery, and you have to glue it back together. There is a sliding cover, the piece with the Toyota logo on it. It is released by the same spring loaded locking slider that releases the "valet key". The cover slides in the direction of the bottom of the logo. Then there are four phillips head screws (jeweler screwdriver size) that open the battery cover. The battery is type CR2032.

Disassemble DirecTV remote?

There are a total of SIX screws. You have already found two in the battery compartment. There are four more under the GREY panel on the front of the remote. That grey panel pries out; there are two tabs on the lower sides and one on the top, above the > button, that hold it in. Should not be hard to get it out to reveal the four screws. Take them all out, and the remove easily pries apart for service access.

Open IM600 docking station to look inside player

YPMDesign is correct, but to get further into the im600 you have to peel off the cover that masks the LCD (it has Altec Lansing printed on it). Once done, it exposes 2 screws, and when removed you can pull open the whole thing, exposing the main circuitry. There is nothing that can be reseated though, as all appears soldered. There is one main board, which everything connects to, then the PCB at the bottom of the system, which has the power buttton and ipod dock connector etc. Unfortunately I have been unale to resolve my problem, where the Power buttton LED lights briefly if the battery is removed and reconnected, but getting nothing on the main display, and the power button is not responding at all when depressed. Mine is sadly bin bound..
