Question about Heating & Cooling
Hi and thank you for this site. This is awesome. I have a 10 year old Dyna-Glo RMC-40 LPT heater. I use this 4 months out of the year in a greenhouse. When I fired it up a week ago the burner flame is very yellow tipped with a baaaaaad smell. Pilot is straight and blue and the heater fires fine. It has been cleaned but that yellow flame is not right. Right? My guess is the burner needs replacement since it does show a little corrosion over the surface.......it is, after all, old and in a humid greenhouse. I've searched and Googled everything for hours and cannot find replacement parts. Any suggestions would be MOST appreciated as I am in Minnesota and it is getting COLD! Thanks!
I had the same issue. Iwent to the local harware store and bought heay duty mirror hangers. They work great for only a few bucks.

You have to change the batteries.. the manufacturer shipped it with **** batteries.
also take it apart.. very simple and clean out any soot..
Soot will cause heavy smoking...
The wick should last more than a year ....

The humming sound might be a stuck blower motor or a motor that won't start due to defective starting capacitor.
