When you first turn on the pro 95 and the dual trunking screen is still on insert (gently) a pin or straightend paper clip in the small hole just above and to the right of the external power plug. That will reset the radio. Once it is reset (wait until it finishes resetting) you may need to initialize it. Turn it off then back on, while it is still displaying the dual trunking screen press "0" and then the "1". Do not turn the radio off until the Initializing is finished. Now re program your radio if you with to use the "SCAN" button. Other wise you should be able to use the "search" button to select the service you wish to listen to. Hope this helps.

Make sure you do have frequencys stored. Turn it on, push button to clock, then press bitton to scanner, then press hold, then the channel # you want it in, press hold again, now press e, enter frequency, press e again, if you want more channels press up, press e. Do this until channels are full or what you want. Then press scan if radio is ok it should scan.
Hi, my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. Press the SCAN button again, adjust the SQUELCH to where it is silent. Press the SCAN button again. Check to make sure you don't have all channels LOCKOUT. Thanks for choosing FixYa.....John
To program the Bearcat 148xlt, press the manual button and then enter your code, for example:"123.456" after you enter the code, push E and then press the manual button again to enter a new code like "567.987" then press E, when all of your codes are entered press the scan button to finish. Try http://www.scannermaster.com
or http://www.radioreference.com for some frequencies to add to your scanners database
Turn on unit.
Press MANUAL button.
Press MANUAL button again to select the channel you want to program.
Note the channel in the display. If there is a hyphenated symbol in the
upper left corner the channel has been locked out. Press the LOCKOUT
button once to remove the symbol or press the LOCKOUT button to lock a
channel out. To find out if there is a frequency programed into that
channel, press the PREVIEW button. Each digit of the frequency that is
stored in memory will be displayed in the LED display. To program a new
frequency into that channel, simply press the digits of the frequency
you want, including the decimal point. Press the "E" keypad key to
enter it into memory. If you get a "E" displayed in the LED display,
the frequency was entered wrong, is not a valid frequency or is out of
range for the scanner. Last but least, the scanner is not working
properly. If the channel is active, (communications going over it) set
SQUELCH to higher number, until you hear the communications or just
noise. To set the SQUELCH, select a channel that has only noise and
turn it down to the point the noise disappears. You make have to
readjust it to your liking. Once you have the channels programed you
can select the SCAN button to listen to all the channels or select the
MANUAL button to listen to just one channel. If there are channels that
you don't want to hear during the scan mode, go to MANUAL and select
the channel you don't want to hear and press LOCKOUT button. Then press
SCAN again it will only scan channels you want to hear.
I had a simular problem with my HpScanner. What I found myself, was the computer stopped recongnizing the program after a few uses. Check your computer programs and see if it's still in. Then if its not, reload it, or simply restart/reboot your computer and see if it recongnizes it then. I believe its a glitch in the programing from the scanner itself. Also just always check if your connections are easily tugged on, may have come loose. They may look connected, but the littelest separation would cause it not to function either. Let me know what happens.
first press the manual button so you can go through the channels one by
one. Then look for a button that has L/O(lock out) push this once for
every channel you have a frequency programmed for it, the channel will
probably not unlock if there is no frequecy programmed to it.
while the scanner is scanning press buttons 3 and 4 and they should start scanning too, if they dont then go to the first channel in bank 3 manually and press LO to unlock it, then hit manual again to go to the next channel and press LO again to unlock it( all of the channels in the bank are probably either locked out or empty(nothing programmed into them)
Usually this type of error message pops up when the scanner lamp isn?t warming up properly. This is what you should do:
1. Check if the lamp is on.
2. Unplug the scanner?s power supply and plug it back in. Try connecting it diretly to the wall.
3. If that doesn?t work:
a. Unplug the unit?s power supply.
b. Press ?cancel? and left arrow while reconnecting the unit.
c. Release the buttons when the printer starts up.
4. Try scanning again.
5. If it doesn?t work, have it serviced.
