Question about Compaq Wireless Keyboard/Mouse p5304

Wireless mutimedia keyboard

I have a keyboard that someone gave me I'm very new to this wireless stuff. It is a Compaq s/n:04102025.Is it supposed to have a receiver or something? Can I get it connected on the web?? Or is it just junk?

Yes, there should be a receiver for the wireless keyboard. If you don't have one, it would be more cost effective to purchase a new one as they can be had for under $20.

Most likely it should have a small USB receiver, unless it's bluetooth and you see something like a button underneath that would turn on discovery mode on the keyboard.

if its a wireless keyboard make sure the batteries are securely seated and fully charged the battery panel should be on the underside of your keyboard

click start control panel keyboard hardware make sure the right type of keyboard is selected

click start control panel keyboard hardware troubleshoot or click start control panel administration tools computer managent device manager scroll to keyboard you could see a yellow question/exclamation mark ? ! or red X a new driver will need to be installed

right click to install drivers

Someone gave me a computer they also gave me a gear head wireless mouse and keyboard i would like to use them but dont know what i need to do


There should be a software disk that came with it to install, but if not, sometimes you can just plug them in and they should work. If they don't work immediately, email me the make and model of the keyboard and mouse with the operating system on your computer, and I'll see if I can find you a driver.-

Replacing the keyboard


your only supposed to pull the hinge out carefully a small amount so the flex cable comes loose, then insert the new keyboards connector there and push them back into place. Its pretty much the same thing in all brands of laptops.

if you have broken the connector, you will probably be looking at buying a new motherboard unless you find someone to replace the broken connector.

I suppose there is a reset button on the keyboard or the software provided so I suppose it could be possible, I don't know.
I use a Microsoft Wired Keyboard...

Some one gave me a older wireless keboard (logitech)i do not have the manual.i have tried pluging it up and pressing the connect button,but is not working.it has a box you plug in to the key board jack on...


hello there when you plugged it in did u get a new hardware found that poped up on the taskbar? if so was it able to fully install the device or did it tell u that it could not install the device with out the cd rom you can use the web to download the drivers for it if you don't have the cd rom ok please let me know how this goes best regards mike

Laser light and safey?


It is a ir laser and is dangerous to the human eye, human eye's can not pick up ir but it dangerous when concentrated.
