I tried to turn my set on tonight with the remote, and when it didn't turn right on I hit the power button a few more times, figuring maybe my batteries were low. When it didn't work, I went over to the TV and pushed the power button on the set. As I did that, I realized the blue standby button was blinking. It stopped when I pushed the power button. That's when it dawned on me that that standby light is always on and never blinked before. Now it's not on at all and the TV won't turn on. It worked perfectly fine earlier today, it's just all of a sudden I get nothing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
The first thing to check is the horizontal output transistor,it might have shorted out and opened the fuse or safety resistor that gives him power to operate, sometimes it goes bad by itself and sometimes the output transformer goes bad and takes him out too.If you are familiar with tv service you have a place to check but if you are not to familiar be safe and seek the help of a servicer.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.
I have read jomuru's solution and agree with him. It is worth unplugging it from the mains for an hour, and then plugging it in, and then trying to switch it on again, as it seems odd that the standby light was flashing originally and then would not do anything. Are you sure the remote control was communicating? Have you tried new batteries in the remote? Are you sure the Power button on the set has not broken?

Hi, after pluging up & connecting the cablecord to the back of my Jensen TS2750J it powered on I heard sound then it went black with a single white line down the middle. I turned it off for ten minutes then turned it on and it was fine. Two weeks same problem. What could be the problem it was working fine & it was in the guest room not being used that often?
