Question about Jensen TS2750J TV

2 Answers

No Power I tried to turn my set on tonight with the remote, and when it didn't turn right on I hit the power button a few more times, figuring maybe my batteries were low. When it didn't work, I went over to the TV and pushed the power button on the set. As I did that, I realized the blue standby button was blinking. It stopped when I pushed the power button. That's when it dawned on me that that standby light is always on and never blinked before. Now it's not on at all and the TV won't turn on. It worked perfectly fine earlier today, it's just all of a sudden I get nothing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: No Power

I have read jomuru's solution and agree with him. It is worth unplugging it from the mains for an hour, and then plugging it in, and then trying to switch it on again, as it seems odd that the standby light was flashing originally and then would not do anything. Are you sure the remote control was communicating? Have you tried new batteries in the remote? Are you sure the Power button on the set has not broken?

Re: No Power

The first thing to check is the horizontal output transistor,it might have shorted out and opened the fuse or safety resistor that gives him power to operate, sometimes it goes bad by itself and sometimes the output transformer goes bad and takes him out too.If you are familiar with tv service you have a place to check but if you are not to familiar be safe and seek the help of a servicer.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.

Last night about 3 am I turned off my tv. when I usewd my remote to turn it back on it would not ( t v) come on and no picture or sound . I turned it around to see the back of it but it has no reset

Your TV have faults on Horizontal deflections, the oscillator and the Flyback might be the problems. If you are not familiar with TV circuits?... call tecnician to check your set.

Our power button is no longer on our tv to turn it on is there any other way i can turn it on

If you are lucky with a universal it MAY OR MAY NOT EVEN PROGRAM--BEST bet would be original remote which will turn set on even if the power button is destroyed.

With a universal you enter a code and hit power, keep entering possible codes one at a time and hit power each time until the set either comes on or runs out of possible codes for the set.

Note: some of the remotes (universals) have a search mode where you can try every possible code one at a time (usually up to around 50 codes)

Again, Universal remotes are hardly universal in the sense that they will always be missing key features---if you have the old remote and it does not work--that is usually fixable.

The power button on the tv is broken and i lost the remote

You can just try programming the remote with the Sharp codes they list in the instructions until you find the one that works. Follow the procedure for entering a code and try it. When you find the right one it will turn the set on when you hit the power button. The remote's instructions tell you to turn the set on to make finding the code easier (when the set shuts off you know you found the right one), but you can work without it.

Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-24FS100 24" TV On/Off problems

I have spent about 4 hours tonight researching several tech sites and the Sony service manual for the same problem with my Sony KV-32HS510 unit. I was able to download the manual from a website and a TV Repair training lecture paper at .

These TV sets have a safety feature where it will shut back down if a high voltage is indicated. Unfortunately, the electronics for these safety features are not very reliable and give false indication. Letting the unit sit off lets the capacitors leak voltage as well as cool off. These two factor help with the unit not falsely indicating a high voltage condition.

The D Board seems to be the most common failure component, but a 6 times flash could be an overcurrent/voltage failure from the A, B, or M boards. A 7 times flash is a Horizontal Deflection Stopped error with no additional information given in the manual for a fix. Again, in most blogs, the D Board seemed to the source of the failures.

A refurbished D Board part no. A1300319A can be bought for around $200 with a new board at $550 per the site. Then add $100-$200 for an actual TV service technician and you have a repair bill approaching the costs for a new flatscreen TV.

Some tech types posted that they have actually repaired their boards by replacing individual components for around $40. You may find a service shop that can do the same component level repair at the $100-$150 level cost. It turns out that the closest authorized Sony repair shop is 2-1/2 hours away from us. Good luck finding someone close by.

We were able to get our TV to come back on after dozens of attempts and plan to leave it on until it dies all together. I may attempt my own D Board replacement when the time comes.

Good luck!

Blinking red light standby/timer

It seems to respond to power supply, send it to a nearby technician. The problem might be it fused the picture power supply fuse. make sure the installation is at you presence.

Sony TV power and volume not working

Since remote does not work, try taking out batt and turning on by set. See if still turns up. It could be that the up button is jammed inside set. Does everything else works? See if you can go to menu and turn speakers off, this will allow you to work on set and not worry about noise.

My tv will not turn on.

First of all, forget about the remote and see if the TV functions normally using the buttons on the front of the set itself. If the TV will not power on with the power button on the set itself, then something is wrong inside the TV. If the set works fine from the front buttons but no longer responds to that remote, then the remote has either gone bad or was accidently set to a different brand. In this case, look for the original book that came with the remote (or TV if it is the original remote) and follow the instructions for setting the remote back to Zenith. Try that and post your results here.
