Aquascape 3000 Pond Pump

My Aquascape 3000 pump keeps dying every 2 years, right after the warranty is over. Is this the typical lifespan for this pump? I keep in running 24 hours a day in the pond. Are there better alternatives?

Regards, Rob

Mine just failed yesterday and it is only 1 1/2 years old. It started to run louder as if the bearing was worn for about a week or so and then finally stopped. The impeller is clear and spins freely with my finger but when I plug it in, it gets power but does not spin. Not too happy right now and see there are lots of complaints about his pump online. Need to find a better replacement.

I have had similiar experiances with these. My most durable pumps are 1. Atlantic water Garden Tidal wave 2 pumps. - ( 1 pump repaired in the last few years out of hundreds sold) 2. Pondmaster - most models. The pondmaster (Danner Mfg. customer service is fantastic- no hassle problem resolution). The pumps get better every year and THREE year warranty.

Try the Aquasurge line of pumps. They carry a 3 year warranty and have a much better lifespan, ans actually cost a bit less than the Pro line of pumps. Another option would be the Tsurumi line which has had excellent success in the field.

Where the wire goes into the pump there is a o ring thatis probably leaking and any sort of water the motor might be getting is tripping the breaker. You probably have it plugged into a gfi and it sense very low amounts of water, and trips, You can determine by plugging it into a regular outlet and it should work. But definently fix the oring at the point of entry on the pump

Rebuild kit for the Aquascape SFA3000 Pump???

I have had the same problem everyone else has had with these pumps. I did serious research on these pumps and came up with a rebuild kit some parts bought some I make. I did mine 2 years ago and still working like a champ and have done over 20 locally with no problems. If your pump is noisy or the impeller has fallen off (typical) due to water getting in the unit and causing the bearings to fail email me and I can rebuild your pump. The process is simple send me the pump I will look at it and see if it can be rebuilt at NO CHARGE if it can be rebuilt you will save over 60% of a new one. Don't spend $349 - $599 on a new one let me look at it for free if I can rebuild it great if not you will have to buy a new one. I am not a dealer for any pumps so you will not have to worry about me selling you a pump and if you want the old one back pay the shipping and it it all yours.

Aquascape 4500 not working

Typical with these pumps, pumps I have rebuilt that have done the same thing what happens is the bearings get loos and cocks the armature that is why it won't spin. Aerate a pond

I live near Memphis TN so don't have that pesky "frozen water" problem. However, I do aerate my 2,500 gal goldfish pond with a Oase Biosys Skimmer (free standing/ floating skimmer) which is powered by a Laguna fountain pump. I attached a small pipe on the discharge end of the pump & set the pump so that this pipe is a few inches below the water's surface. The discharge provides a small fountain effect that keeps the surface moving while aerating the water. The skimmer keeps the leaves / debris off the top of the water the pump keeps the water moving...and moving water will not freeze. Hope this helps
