Please provide us the ff information?
- your ISP
- modem
- number of computers and their status (online or not with the router)
- can you go online if you connect a computer directly to the modem? if so, did it work automatically?

It says it is connected to access point but internet cannot be found.

Check you connection by:

-checking connectivity to router
open command line and type :ipconfig" and hit enter
find entry called default gateway you need the ip it is set to
now in command prompt "ping GATEWAYIP" (replace GATEWAYIP with the ip from above)

If ping fails you need to check to make sure your router or adapter is not faulty. Or undo any static ip assignments you may have.

If it worked
try to run "ping 8.8.8.8" (this will test if router is routing to internet)

If it fails and the step above works you need to power cycle the router or replace if it dosen't work.

Now if everything works so far try this
"ping google.com"

if it fails you have a DNS problem you can fix this by useing goggles Free DNS server.

Can't connect to the modem

If you have a Cable Modem try doing a MAC cloning on the router and check the Firmware update, if you have a DSL connection try changing the LAN ip Address (Eg:- from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1) or if you have PPPOE then use the correct PPPOE username and password on the router and try to set it up, if that dosent work then we will take it from that point.

Cant connect my router to my new internet

Did the old internet come with the router? It may have static settings in it. If so, you will need to configure it with the new static settings, or at least put it on DHCP.

Where can i find the router settings?

Hi to find router settings open your command prompt type ipconfig and check default gateway is 192.168.2.1. or not
Then type in 192.168.2.1. on the address bar of an internet explorer page or type http://192.168.2.1. from run
If still this dosent work disconnect your modem from your router and and then try the above steps
And remember to try this only from a wired computer cauz if you try to change router settings from wireless connection will drop .

Router gets disconnected

If you know how to open the setup page of the router, look for MTU. Normally it is set to Auto with default size of 1500. Now set it to manual and change the value to 1463 and save the changes. Power cycle the router by unplugging the power for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Observe your connection if it keeps on dropping.

Another is you need to isolate the problem if its the router or the modem. Try to connect your PC directly to your modem and observe if it does the same thing. If it does the same problem, call your Internet Provider to fix the modem.

If the problem still persist on the router after changing the MTU, try to update the Firmware of the router and hard reset it by pressing the reset button for 15 seconds then power cycle it.
