You can get connection if you find a wireless network available (in case that you don't have one at your house) or going to some cybercaffe with wireless network available

If not only with the card you can not........at least that your card comes with wireless provided by att or other provider. (signal comes trhu sattelite like your celular phone)

Sure you can, but first of all you have to check if your wireless card have been installed on your laptop.

    My computer >> right click >>Properties >> Hardware>> Device Manager >> Network

You will see the card there, if you don't see the card there you have to install the card first.

My lenovo keeps on disconnecting for the internet

Troubleshooting your wireless connection via your Lenovo computer is not a task that requires familiarity with wireless networks or a vast level of computer troubleshooting knowledge.

You can repair Lenovo wireless problems ranging from browser setting errors to hardware connection issues and the only item you will need on hand is the owner's manual that was shipped with your router.

You will not require any additional devices or tools and should not have to resort to the expensive aid of a technician.

Launch the web browser you normally operate and check the "Work Offline" settings.

Click on the top toolbar where it says "File" and scroll down to where it says "Work Offline."

Ensure this selection is not checked, otherwise it will impede the operation of your wireless connection.

Click on this option to uncheck it.

Look over the connection made between your modem and wireless router.

Both devices have an Ethernet port on the rear.

It looks like an oversized telephone cord port. If these ports are not occupied by an Ethernet cable, connect one end of the cable to each device.

This connection cannot be loose.

Check your records for the password to your Lenovo wireless setup if you have a secured connection.

(A secured connection is recommended).

If you cannot find your password in your records, you will need to reset it.

Find the manual that shipped with your router and extract two important pieces of information. The first is the special web address the manufacturer provided for you to set up your router's settings; the second is the default password for your router.

Enter the web address from the manual into the web browser and click "Enter."

When prompted, input the default password from the wireless router.

Choose a new password for your wireless connection now that you have access to the settings.

Additionally, ensure the kind of wireless security you are using is "WPA." "WEP" is another available option, but it is an older encryption type and is technically inferior.

Click on the wireless network icon on the right side of the bottom toolbar in Windows on your Lenovo computer.

A list of wireless networks within range of your Lenovo computer will appear.

Click on the name of your wireless network and input your new password when prompted.

Look to the bottom right of your Windows desktop.

You should get a notification stating that you have successfully joined the network.

Hope this helps

Wireless card not working ze4933

f you suddenly have a problem with your network connection, before you make any changes, you must determine whether you have a problem with (1) the wireless device on the computer, (2) the connection between the computer and the network , or (3) the connection from the ISP provider to the network. Each of these devices / connections must be operating independently before they can all work together.
  1. View the wireless icons in the system tray to determine the status of the devices and connections. Then, open the appropriate utilities for detailed information on potential problems. The detailed windows are: the Windows Wireless Network Connection, the HP Wireless Assistant, and the Device Manager.
  2. When you have the detailed information, identify the specific type of connection problem by reading the connection description statements below. Then select the statement that most closely describes your problem for a detailed explanation of the corrective actions.Internal wireless networking adapters or PCMCIA cards may have problems connecting to a wireless network if the Advanced options are not set properly. For instance, some PCMCIA devices can adjust the power output to increase the strength of the wireless signal.note.pngNOTE:If the computer and router are in the same physical area, you may want to reduce the signal strength to save battery. However, if they are not located near to each other, you can turn the power up to 100% to maximize the signal. Most HP internal wireless cards can be set to turn off to save battery power. If the wireless connection was working but suddenly stopped when using the battery, the card may be turning itself off exactly as planned. You can use the Device Manager to specify the power settings and keep the wireless card turned on.To verify and change the wireless device settings in the Device Manager, do the following actions.
    1. Click Start , Control Panel , System , Hardware , and then Device Manager .
    2. Click the plus sign (+) next to Network Adapters . If multiple devices are listed, you should check the devices one at a time.
    3. Right-click on the network adapter, and select Properties .Select the Power Management tab, if available, and verify the power settings. Not all wireless device drivers have a Power Management option.
When you have set the Power Management options, close the Device Manager, restart the computer, and attempt to reconnect to the wireless network.

My Name is Pam I have a model# WRK54G Router I want to hook it up to my lap top I don't have : Wireless-G Notebook adapter Two Set-up CD-Rom I do have Symantec Norton Internet Security...

Pam;
If your laptop does not have a built in wireless adapter, you cannot use the router wireless. There are ports on the back of the router that you can connect your router to the laptop. The image below shows ports numbered 1-4. These are for the cable to your computer. The other port needs to be connected to the modem from your Internet service provider.

You will need a length of RJ45 Cat 5 cable from a local Best Buy or computer store. This may be difficult since you live in a more rural area. The cable can be purchase online from Frys.com. Measure the distance you want to use the laptop from the router and buy the length cable you need.

Buying a wireless notebook adapter will allow you to connect to the router without this cable, but the costs are higher. If you decide to buy one, get a USB modelmoz-screenshot-1.png.

it will be easier to use and choose. The router will also have to be setup to allow the connection to be made wirelessly. This can be found in the manual online at linksys.com.

My laptop cannot hookup to the enternet with my dlink wireless card

To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router’s wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router’s wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.
To access the Internet you need to connect the DSL or cable modem to the WAN (Internet) port on the wireless router.

My belkin card is connected to my computer but its not working

dear sammy1996,
Did the belkin card came with the driver CD? If so, make sure to put it in your optical drive on you laptop, from here..
Try to reveal your DEVICE manager by follow these steps below:

Start>MyComputer>(right click on it)>(select the 'properties' on context menu)>Select the 'Hardware' tabs on MyComputer properties box>Then Choose the 'device manager'>END

On 'DeviceManager' Box, find and click the 'SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES' icon and let the computer configure themselves...
If you see the Yellow Question mark on the related hardware, right click on it and choose UNINSTALL, Answer YES. Once again please run the 'SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES'... If your system info tells you found new hardware, direct to install the driver to your driver CD.

Any other way is to copy the folder containing the driver from your desktop computer to a flashdisk (Used to be folder containing the drivers are located on C:windows/system32/drivers/driver..

Follow the previous step and direct your wizard of new hardware to the flashdisk and let windows copy by itself. Then reboot your laptopPC with the belkin card plugged in.

GoodLuck!

Belkin (F5D7050) 802.11a/ Wireless Adapter

I just noticed that it is a 802.11a/ . "a" wireless products do not work correctly and you need an "a" router to connect to. The "g" protocol is the most common and reliable.
If it is a new adapter, I would return it and get a 802.11 g adapter, not a USB.. they cost about $20.
