Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a pixma mx310. Daughter went to use it last night-got error message on computer that usb device not recognized,no error message on printer itself. Bought new cable today, did not help. Have followed directions on backing out, shutting off printer, rebooting computer, reloading from cd--no luck. It copies fine, fax seems to function, get "recommend new c-crt" in fax mode.

Hi
Have you tried uninstalling the printer from your system?
try doing so, and install it again, but this time using a new USB port.

Had the exact same problem. Unplugged printer from power and let it sit for a minute. Also went into the printer menu and reset all printer settings. Plugged it back in and it started to work again. I think it maybe static shocking the system. Going to go buy a static mat. Hope this helps.

CANON PIXMA MX310: printer not responding.


If you go to Start, Printers and Faxes, if it says "Offline", right-click the printer and choose "Use Printer Online." If it says Ready, you should be good to go.

If however there is a problem yet, double-click the Printer there and see if any jobs are in the print queue. You can remove them all buy Right-Clicking and choosing "Cancel All Documents" then try printing a test page. Right-click the printer, go to properties and click "Print Test Page."

I have Vista 32 and trying to install Canon MX310 but getting the message stating that USB device doesn't recognized.


change the usb slot cause its an usb 1.0 and you need a 2.0 for this device ..if ya have the proper driver it has to work ..

Did you replace the Black ink cartridge or the Color cartridge, or did you replace both?

Facing the front of the Canon Pixma MX310, did you install the Black ink cartridge to the left side, and the Color cartridge to the right side?

Do Not reverse how the ink cartridges go. Do Not install a Black ink cartridge, in the Color cartridge holder.

If the Alarm light came on, check to see if you have an error message in the LCD. (Not trying to insult your intelligence. The LCD is the little rectangular Liquid Crystal Display on your Pixma MX310 Operation Panel, to the left of the numeric buttons)

Do you have the Pixma MX310 On-screen manual?
Start>Hover on All Programs>Canon>Pixma MX310>On-screen manual

Click on the Troubleshooting heading.
If you have an error message code, click on the heading ->
An Error Message is Displayed on the LCD.

Also suggest you click on the heading -> Problems Sending Faxes.

Posted already but it seems to have vanished. I have a Canon Pixma MX310 which is displaying ... check printer 5B00 Can somebody help Thanks Dave


The response from Canon for your error code, 5B00, is as follows:
1. Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device 2. The MX310 may require repair You can access Canon's support site with specific solutions to any error message you get for that machine by clicking here.

Canonmax310 negates other usb ports


Local computer shop employee suggested that the USB ports on the front of the computer might be the problem rather than the printer causing havoc. I connected all devices on the back USB ports and the problem was corrected.
Thank you for the opportunity to seek help with this matter.

Canon pixma MX310 scanner not working


I read somewhere that the printer/scanner must be plugged directly into the computer in order to scan.  I tried it, and it works.  Printing can be done wirelessly, but apparently not scanning!

Chances are you reconnected the printer to a different USB port and your default is still set up for the other port...

Look at your printer settings and chances are it set up the printer again for the new port.

Either change your default printer or move the cable back to the original port.

Nope, the Canon printers don't come with a USB cable.  You have to supply it yourself.  I just used the one from my previous printer.
