Ok make sure the cd is not scratched and the head unit is cleaned and also make sure the cd player unit is grounded good and make sure none of the fuses in the red wire (12v) are not blown or busted

The in dash CD player accepts a disc but does not play. It will show track number but it's stuck on 00:00 then it sim0ply ejects the disc. What could be wrong?

i know this may sound dumb but did you check the cd for scratches or fingerprints?
is this a cd that you burned from the computer? if so is it the correct type and in the correct format..
Sometimes when burning cd's on the computer depending on what software you are using if the bitrate is set to high (above 128Kbps) then the cd will not play on normal cd player
Also when burning cds on the computer the session must be closed completely before it can be played on a regular cd player

Try a brand new store bought type cd and see if it works if it still does not play then it is possible that the laser has somehow become "out of alignment" and that is too difficult to fix and better to be replaced

But by your description it sounds more like the cd is dirty or scratched

It is also possible that the stereo is wore out or malfunctioning

hope this info helps

Audio CD will not eject from the CD player. If you turn it off and back on it recognizes the CD and it will play but can not get it to eject?

you will need to take the stereo to a repair shop to have them remove the disk and to repair the problem that is causing it do that.

I own a 2003 chevy suburban with the factory am/fm cassette/cd player. has rds with the bose system. i have a problem with the cd player. it takes a number of trys for the cd to insert, it'll play the cd,...

This problem is caused by the cd tray either malfunctioning determined by the burnt rubber smell. More than likely, the tray that hold the cd or arms or whatever you want to call em, are off track or caught on something and the motor tries to move them and just spins the rubber belt which causes the burnt rubber smell. You will need to take the vehicle to a Chevy dealer to have them fix it or replace it cuz it probably is unrepairable. Or you could take it to any place that fixes cars and/or car stereos. But look on the bright side, this gives you an excuse to buy a new stereo that has a screen and everything. You could be "pimpin" lol. Good luck. I don't know how many times i've had this same problem with stereos. They always wear out.

My radio dont want to play the cd but i could only get the radio station and i try on hitting eject and dont do nothing

sometimes ejecting the face plate, if possible, is necessary now and then to realign the electrical contacts.

there should be a button to eject the faceplate (on most aftermarket stereos) eject, reinstall, try again.

Cd would not eject now wont play or eject or anything.

Start by checking all of the fuses in your car if the radio is not even powering on. If this does not work your next step is to have the unit repaired or replaced at which point the cds can by removed by taking the unit apart. You can do this yourself or take it to a best buy and have it replace with an aftermarket unit which will be much better and a lot cheaper than going back to the dealer

I have a kenwood 719 flip out monitor and i put a cd in it and the monitor says mecha error and won't let the cd come out. It just makes a bunch of noises. I pressed the reset button but that didn't work....

You can try to push the CD in further with an object and then try ejecting (be careful not to break the CD!). Also, the soft reset button on the outside of the unit may not work, but disconnecting constant power (hard reset) may cause the CD to automatically be ejected when powered back up again. This can be done by disconnecting the negative battery terminal on the car for 15 seconds. If these don't work, visit a local Kenwood stereo dealer for service as this is a common issue with the 719 series and 819 series.

I bought a new 07 dodge caliber this weekend. It has a stock 6 disk with satilite. I cannot get a cd to load, or the stereo to change into cd mode. whats wrong??

if you push the eject bution it will tell you to insert disc, to go to fm or sat to cd, there must be a disc for it to play... to load the whole stereo with cd's just push eject and the tray you want to load along the bottom of the stereo and it will tell you when to put the disc in, works the same for taking them back out
