Brother hl-2170W wireless problem

The wireless port has been working fine for two months, suddenly it stopped working. I tried re-setting it and then re-loading the drivers, but after loading them, the install wizard can't find the printer. All firewalls are Off. Is the port dead?

    Thanks, and sorry for taking so long to respond, but had to go out of town for a while. I did the factory reset as you posted, and set the IP numerous times. It just could not see the network thru the wireless port. I finally called Brother who walked me thru the same steps, then had 2nd level support call me back. Long story short, the wireless port Had gone bad, they overnighted me a new one, which installed flawlessly. I guess I'll just see how long this one lasts.... Thanks again.

    HL2170W was working fine last week, but now will nt print.Have reinstalled it numerous times, Im not a computer expert so I dont know if its me doing something wrong, but, I followed the manual and my computer tells me it has been installed successfully and after re booting........still wont print!!

Reset the network print server back to factory defaults:
Turn off the printer
Make sure the front cover is closed and the power cord plugged in.
Hold the "GO" as you turn on the power switch. Keep the GO button pressed down until the Toner,Drum,Error LEDS light up. Release the GO button. Make sure that the Toner,Drum,and paperLEDS are off.

Press the GO button seven times. Make sure that all the LEDS light up to indicate the print server has been reset to factory defaults.
Then setup the IP address.

How do I reset the printer to factory defaults? How do I perform a factory reset?
Follow the steps below to reset the printer to factory defaults.
1. Check that the front cover of the printer is closed. Turn OFF the
power switch on the right side of the printer.

2. Turn ON the printer power switch while holding down the GO button
until the Toner, Drum, and Error LEDs are lit.
The GO button is located on the top left side of the printer below the
Toner, Drum, and Error LEDs.

3. Release the GO button. All LEDs will be off.

4. Press the GO button 8 times. The Ready LED will flash while the
printer is reset. After the printer is reset the Ready LED will be lit.

It may be no more than your wireless router going flaky.
Yesterday, one of my computers could not connect to the Internet. Unplugged the router for 3-5 minutes and then plugged it back in for the same amount of time. Then it worked.
This morning my printer would not work. Repeated the paragraph above and all is fine.
Looks as though the unplugging forces the IP Settings in the printer (or router???) to be reset.

HOW DO I un-lock the scanner on a Brother MFC 7420?


Unfortunately, the MFC-7420 doesn't have a physical lock switch. You need to turn off the all-in-one and wait for the unit to clear its memory. If the error recurs after you press the power button again, wait 30 minutes and try again. (Note: you will lose any faxes that are in memory. See the User Guide page 11-5 to save this information.) You can find the manual on the Brother support page for the MFC-7420: https://www.brother-usa.com/support/ModelInfo.aspx?R3ModelID=MFC7420 . Click on the Manuals & Documents tab. Then click on the Manuals on our Online Solution Center for the English version of the manual. You can also try unplugging the all-in-one for several minutes to reset the error codes. If the error persists, contact Brother if the MFC-7420 is still under warranty (1 year). If it isn't under warranty, consider replacing the unit. The repair costs may be unreasonable.

BROTHER P-TOUCH IS not printing


It is obvious it has a failed electronic component, since these are not repaired/exchanged except when they are under warranty best thing to do is just replace it.

My Epson WF-3640 is printing with gaps in the text. How do I fix this issue?


Make sure you should remove shipping tape from the ink cartridge. These taps are used to protect printer during shipping but you have to remove it before starting printing. Beacuse these taps prevent the ink to entering in print head. If you will not found shipping tape in your printer then there is terr off strip, remove it. The tear off strip seals the the vent holes on the top of the cartridge to prevent it from drying out on the shelf or during shipping.
After ensuring that the shipping tape has been removed, run the printer's "Head Cleaning" utility to prime the cartridge, then print a test page.

Laser printer makes light clicking noise when idle


When idle is potentially the fuser unit, after heating and cooling. However the print quality issue associated with the clicking sound could indicate an electrical issue. The HVPS maybe faulty causing the print quality issue (due to dependant parts) and the electrical click. In any case I would recommend calling Brother and finding the nearest authorised service agent.

Samsung kicked out hp 3in 1 printer already installed


Don't have your HP designated as the default printer (if possible)when you hook up the Samsung. When the Samsung is hooked up it sees the HP is the default printer. Well it can't have that, they discard the HP drivers. What does Samsung care about HP drivers theres only one printer port setup and thats the USB port you have them sharing. So yes you need to get a second cable. Tim
