Movies projected from laptop

We cannot show movies by using the projector with our laptop. It will project the Media Player toolbar but not the movie even though the movie is showing up on the laptop. We do not have a problem when the movie is shown through a desktop. The movie clips are stored on a network server.

This is a laptop issue. Not a problem with the projector.

While playing your movie in your PC, change the screen resolution to lower, and then check your television. The error is in the playing format which your HDTV cannot play while receiving the video signal, which could be of very high resolution or also can be very lower. Try to adjust it, also check your media player properties, might be its conflicting, or some setting should needed to set-up.Check thoroughly for best results.

Video projection

I recommend searching the internet for a file called fddshow.exe It will install a wider variety of digital decoders which your projector should be able to transfer to the screen.

Videos won't play on my Dell Windows Media player

It records movies in Quicktime format (.mov). Do not try to run the movie in picture project. Download the movie file onto your harddrive and run it under Quicktime.

Cannot project movies in powerpoint

I have encountered this same problem once in the office when i was trying to do the same thing.

The solution:
*Assuming you have windows xp*

1) make sure the projector and the laptop are connected (FN+F8), do a right click anywhere in your desktop then go to settings by default Monitor 1 would be your Lattitude D620 and Monitor 2 should be your projector, to make sure of that click on the 'identify' it should show a 1 in your laptop and a 2 on the projector
2) now select monitor 2 and select 'use this device as my primary monitor' check mark, by doing this your videos should play in your monitor but they will be a blank/black screen on the laptop (basically we are reverting the order).

Sincerely

Media player movie picture won't display

Yes, I have the same problem with a Dell Inspiron 700m laptop. I have never been able to show videos using two seemingly compatible devices. This is not a projector issue however, as my projector displays video DVD fine from this PC, only videos inserted into PowerPoint will not play. Using another computer it works fine. Imagine that, Dell selling two highly practical devices that are not compatible.
