Question about Uniden BC248CLT Base Scanner
Program a bc-898t
Obviously you didn't like the first response to your general question. Reviewing the manual will give you a good idea of the complexity of programming the BC898T, but remember that the details are due to the trunking systems, not the scanner. Programming any trunking system into any scanner will be a complex task, but the BC898T is probably one of the simplest to work with. To really simplify the task you can program the scanner using your PC and free software from Uniden, or you can program AND control the scanner using a great software package from BuTel. ScannerMaster offers the software for about $70.
If your area has switched to analog trunk systems you will need a scanner like the BC898T to follow the action.
If your area has switched to digital trunking, you will need a more expensive scanner such as the Uniden BCD996XT.
If your area has not switched to trunk systems, and has no plans to, you can stay with a much simpler and less costly conventional scanner.
