Kenmore refrigerator compressor clicking

Hi, I have a Kenmore refrigerator model number 10659582990 that is not cooling. Seems to have broke after I rolled the electrical connector on the ice maker water valve to the water dispenser water valve, don't see how that could cause a problem with the compressor. Compressor is warm, not too hot to touch & the compressor is clicking on every 1 1/2 - 2 minutes for approx 5 seconds. Fan is running underneath & the fan is running in freezer.

Relay on the compressor bad.

Try unpluging for 30 - 45 min until the compressor has cooled down then plug it back in. If it doesn't start replace the relay. Most service techs carry a universal relay and wiil put the relay on, if it starts, your good to go, if not, then the compressor is bad.

Door was left open on frezer over night, now it want cool back down u can hear the compressor kicking out

Hi,
The relay to the compressor is the only thing that will click on a refrigerator, I would look at the relay package connected to the compressor to solve this issue. I need a model number to assist you further.
Good Luck

My fridge and freezer do not seem to be cooling. Lack of air flow possible compressor failure. Looking for any solution I could try at home.

OK I will give you a try and see if I can help. Kenmore is a Sears Brand name as you already know. What happens is Sears call their models something different than the number I or you need to make a parts search. Click Here=> Sears Kenmore model Number Prefix and complete Model Number As you see in the photo about mid page the sample number is 795.78753800 so the prefix is in this case a 795 LG Electronics Refrigerator. Once you locate that number I will want you to unplug refrigerator and pull away from wall. Remove the lower cover over the compressor area to expose compressor, condenser fan and condenser coil. Fill the top of your compressor to see if warm, hot or too hot to keep your hand on top of refrigerators compressor. If too hot to keep hand there leave unplugged until compressor cools enough to open the cover on the terminal box on the side and we need to do some test from there. Click here=> How to test a Compressor for Burnout
Down on this Page Almost at Bottom. Don't worry this is only a windings test so you get an idea of what to look for.I want you to open freezer door and feel to make sure fans are running while compressor runs. I will await your response, Thanks, Sea Breeze

HI,

if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.
