Sorry for the delay in responding.

    1. It could be a case of interference, if there are other devices around that emit strong electro-magnetic fields like hi-fi's, speakers, tv's, microwaves, etc. Try to move your k/b away from these items if possible.

    2. Try to plug the receiver into a different USB port if available, and connect directly to the port and not through a hub or port replicator. Or you could also try the PS/2 port on the PC (the round purple socket on the tower).

    3. Remove the batteries from the k/b and randomly type anything over the k/b for about 2 minutes (doesnt have to make sense), trying to hit as many keys as possible. This will discharge the capacitors and 'reset' your k/b. Next, replace the batteries (check polarity) and reconnect the k/b to the receiver.

    4. Reinstall the k/b drivers. Uninstall the driver first, Reboot PC, and reinstall the drivers.

    5. Check the settings in Control Panel > Keyboards

If all this fails to resolve the issue, you could have a faulty k/b. I would also suggest running a full virus scan, if the above steps do not work. You can try this free online scanner, which is very good:

How do i fix my keyboard so that half of the keys dont type numbers

Hi
You probably have a multifunctional keyboard - so there is a key somewhere that is currently in its "on" state. It is usually located along the top or bottom of your keyboard and marked function / num.lock (numerical lock) or something similar.
Hope this helps

How do I find numerical lock button on Dell windows 8 keyboard?

On the Dell 0Y3740 for the Dell Inspiron 500M or Latitude D800, the Num Lock (Lock replaced by a symbol) key is on the top row of keys. It's a short row and the Num Lock is the third key from the left (or the fifth key from the right). In blue, the key has Scroll and the lock symbol.

On a slightly different model, the key may be in a different spot. However, it will probably have a similar placement near the Print Screen and Pause/Break keys. (Usually these keys will be near the function keys or just above them for a keyboard without a separate 10-key area.)

I hope this helps.

How i can enble function key

HP laptops have the ability to lock the blue special function keys on, making numerical data entry easier on laptop models that do not have the room for dedicated numerical keypads. Because the key combination to lock the function keys is so simple, however, it is easy for those who wouldn't normally use this ability to do so accidentally. When the function keys are locked, pressing certain keys will result in numbers being typed rather than letters. Unlock the function keys to alleviate this issue.

Press the "Fn" and "Num Lk" keys on the keyboard simultaneously. The "Number Lock" indicator light should turn off, indicating that the letter keys will once again type letters when pressed. This combination should work on the majority of recent HP laptops. If it does not, try one of the alternate key combinations in this article's remaining steps. Press the "Fn" and "F11" keys simultaneously, then attempt to type a letter. If the combination does not work, continue to the next step. Press the "Fn" and "Scroll Lock" keys simultaneously, then attempt to type a letter. Continue to the next step if this does not work. Press the "Fn," "Scroll Lock" and "F11" keys simultaneously.

Numerical keypad offset numlock on keyboard

Examine your keyboard to ensure your "Number Lock" key is not activated.

This activation is indicated by the key being lit up.

If the key is activated, press it to deactivate the lock.

The number lock key will deactivate an entire segment of your keyboard

Start, click Run, and type regedit to open the Windows registry editor.

In the registry, open the below folders.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Control Panel\
Keyboard\

Within the keyboard folder, you should have a string value named "InitialKeyboardIndicators" with a value of 0, 1, or 2. Below is the explanation of each of these values.

0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon.
1 = Disable Num Lock.
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the logon.

hope this helps

How to off the numerical lock

if you do not have a 10-key on your keyboard than look for the FN key on the bottom left of the keyboard and ook for the "num lock" written in small blue letters on the keyboard around the letters: I,O,P,J,K,L. so you'll hold FN and press the letter with "num lock" written on it. that will engage and disengage num lock for your keyboard. hope this is helpful for you.

Hi I am using ADESSO WKB-4000US on my new tablet PC. I cannot use the letter U,I,O,J,K,L,M. only numer 4,5,6,1,2,3,0 is display. What shold I disable to make it function as std kb

Hi thanks for your question.
Somewhere on your keyboard there a key that says 'num lock' on it usually on the right upper side of keyboard. Sometimes you need to press 2 keys together to dis-activate it. For example Fn key and Num Lock key. Once you got it dis-activated you should be able to use you normal letters.
Good Luck

On my laptop in green are symbols and numbers, for example letter L has a green 3, when I try to type a word with the letter L a 3 appears, how do I change this? At the moment I have my old keyboard...

if you press the L key and the number 3 comes up. you likely have the num lock on.

is different for every computer but usually you can deactivate the num lock by pressing 2 keys at the same time.
the fist key is usually the key labeled (Fn) and the other key is usually a function key (the ones with F an a number), the way to find which is the other key is to look at the keyboard and try to find one that has a simble that looks like a tiny numerical key-pad
press both keys and a light that signals that the num lock is on should go off. at that point you should have your l and any other letters again typeable.

good luck

Function keys not working

try holding down the function key and hitting the numlock or scroll lock key, this is usually how you engage or disengage the laptops function keys on the keyboard. Most laptops have a light that will turn on and off when you do this, indicationg that the funtion keys are in use. depends on the brand
