Conect to some sites but not others - Belkin ADSL2+ Modem + wireless g router

My Belkin worked fine and one day for no reason it just started going wierd.I log on to the router and it says that internet is connected and nothing seems wrong with it at all. However it will only load certain sites such as google, Apple home page e.t.c. It will not upload others however, such as facebook msn e.t.c. There is no relation between the sites it will and will not load they are just random. On some sites it will half open them then give up. There are alot more sites it will not let me on that it will let me on, its frustrating. The lights on the front of my modem all light up one by one as usual back when it did work, but once they are all lit up the phone line connection and web connection lights go out then slowly come back on again until the internet finally connects (with this problem). My xbox 360 wont connect to the internet either.
It comes up with this when I try to get on some websites. Proxy ErrorThe proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET (whatever site i want to get on to).
Reason: Error reading from remote server

Please note I use a Mac not a PC. However I do have a PC that uses wireless to connect to the modem.

It also comes up with this sometimes when i try to get on a site.
    Safari can’t open the page.
Safari could not open the page &ldquohttp://uktsupport.ipbhost.com/index.php?... because the server is not responding.

Try to clear your cache file on your computer, check your setting if you type the correct dns on your router or computer. ask your isp if your behind a proxy server then try to bypass it.

The error your getting is on your ISP side this error refer if your service is behind a proxy server. normal browser is not getting this error massage unless they are behind the proxy server.

This indicates that router can't detect cable modem or this is unresponsive, probably your modem is logically tied with your PC (MAC address associated), that's why when you connect them directly work fine, if this is the case, you'll have to clone the MAC address of your PC into your router, this should be at Setup Menu, Manage MAC addresses option.

I have a comtrend ADSL2+Ethernet Router hooked to my desktop Pc and a G-Wireless Router made by Belkin.According to the tech I should be able to connect these two to use my Laptops, but any way I've tried...

You dont need a Belkin Disk to set up - this can be done manually you can get a manual from this site http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/product/list/q/routers/ select G in the first dropdown and then your model - theres two to choose from and then then the version
you have a choice - you could change the comtrend router to just use the modem - bridged mode - they have a few different routers see here http://www.comtrend.com/links/i$residential-adsl2-modem-router$product.htm so not sure which one you have if you can bridge to just use the modem then connect tothe Belkin and all PCs should connect to the Belkin
OR you can connect two routers together Leave the comtrend router set as it is -
Set the IP address of belkin router to same subnet as the comtrend. Depending on the DHCP range of the comtrend router - set the IP outside this range - so if comtrend is set to give an ip of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.100 - set the belkin to 192.168.0.254 Disable the DHCP in the belkin.
Connect the comtrend LAN to one of the Belkin LAN ports - you may need to use a crossover cable. On the belkin the WAN port will be left unconnected

Check that your router is set to a channel that does not have a lot of traffic on it. If you are in an area where there are a lot of wireless networks, this can be very important for proper operation. The other possibility I can think of is that the antenna is faulty or there is some other interference in your building. You might also check that your router does not have a low power wireless transmit mode, not many do, but if it does, it's always possible that it's turned on.

Belkin wireless G+ MIMO ADSL2 + modem routerF5D9630

You need to find out what settings need to be changed in the router to communicate to the new modem. Etisalat should have some type of instructions on how to configure it...Does the IP address get obtained automatically or is it manually configured. Does the modem require authentication..like a password. Did they replace the modem or just upgrade the system? You may just ahve to reset the modem and router to get reconnection. Most routers use the IP address of 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 to get to the router settings control panel. Just enter one of these addresses on internet explorer and a screen should ask for a password. The default password is usually ADMIN but consult the routers manual for instructions. Once you are in the router control manual you can configure the router to work with the new system.

no, but you need to configure the router to connect to the internet, you should have a "quick start guide" that will help you connect to your router and set your ADSL dial settings (as it needs this to connect you to your internet service)

once these connection settings are set you should be able to connect to the internet

you can then explore the other settings including the wireless configuration of your router
