I accidentally dropped my panasonic dvd ls855 and now I get garbage on the screen. It won't display the movie picture. Only the audio works--I get the soundtrack. Is this a lost cause?

Do you want a changellage? Do you know how to solder? With a pencil thin soldering gun ? open the equipment(dvd) and carefully look for a cracked board. If anything, RESOLDER every large 'bump' of solder on the circuit board. they are usually ground or return paths for electricity and the "DROP" could have loosen the solder connection.
lots of luck

PANSONIC DVD-LS855 screen cracked

You could always try to replace the screen by trying to find one on eBay or some other used market that is broken, but has a good screen. Then simply swap screens.

Dvd s58 how to make it multy zone

hi,
To make your dvd player region free ,you also need a pansonic tv's or home theater's remote. Do the following with the two remote to make you player region free.

The new Panasonic DVD players DVD-S38 & DVD-S58 have a different way of being multizoned. An extra Panasonic remote is required ie: from TV or home theater:
Power On, Tray Open.
Using remote control included press: Audio, 1, 9, 8, 2. Press Subtitle.
Using another Panasonic remote press Pause.
On the remote included, press 0.
'On' will be displayed on the unit.
ok

Panasonic DVD-LS855 This player suddenly stopped reading disks. The "Carriage" clicks repeatedly and a message on the screen says that it cannot read the disk. Is this a simple fix? Is it...

It could just need a good cleaning. Get a lens/head cleaner...they are around $6 at Target. Try that....if that doesn't work then is probably is a hardware issue and should just be replaced. It's not worth it to get it repaired as it would probably cost more to repair it then buying a new one straight out. Especially since you can find DVD players for as little as $20 now-a-days.

Dropping any electrical unit will almost everytime destroy it. Sad but true...this unit may have many problems. I suggest you replace it altogether! Sorry! Thanks for asking!
