Fujifilm z10 Will Not Connect to Computer

My Fujifilm z10 won't ever seem to connect to my computer. When the cable is connected, the computer never wants to read it. The drive won't even come up--it's like nothing is attached at all!!

Your computer might need the driver for that particular camera reinstalled. You should be able to go to Fuji's website and download an updated driver for your camera make and model. Also, just to be sure, most cameras have to be turned to the ON position when you download data. My Kodak will not communicate with my P.C. unless I have it ON when I attach the U.S.B. cord - a couple of times I have sat there waiting and nothing, until I realize I did not have it ON. Also you may want to make sure your U.S.B cord is O.K. - replacements are inexpensive. Good Luck!!!

Why won't the driver for my fujifilm finepix AX300 install on windows vista?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

What cables to i need to connect z10 to my computer, thanks.

You will need a dedicated Z10 data cable. One end will have the USB connector which will connect to the PC and the other end will have the dedicated Z10 connector which will connect to the phone.
It normally comes in the box along with the charger if you got it brand new.
Should be available at any mobile store
