99% of the time a blue screen is completely SOFTWARE BASED. This could be a driver conflict, or missing files. What does the blue screen say?

If it were me, a blue screen sometimes means something really serious could have happend. I would let a computer specialist check it out.

Blue screen

This seems to be an Operating system issue , best way to resolve this is by Re-Installing the Operating system which will wipe everything in the laptop Hard disc, At the Acer splash screen, you can press Alt and F10 to bring up a DOS style version of eRecovery. The unit is able to reload Windows from this mode faster then from CD. If the hard drive is replaced the system loses its eRecovery features. These features are on the hard drive and cannot be reinstalled

I have compaq C772TU Laptop. The problem is that Its hard disk warms up in 3 minutes after startup and after some time it hangs and shows a blue scree error. Please help me out to resolve this problem....

If it has the blue screen error, try to turn off the pc, remove the power cable and battery. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Reseat the cables and battery. turn on the laptop.

If Blue screen occurs, turn off the pc and reseat the Hard Drive. If it still occur, then that is the time to replace the hard Drive..

I have a Gateway laptop That I thought had HArd drive problem.

The lack of fans and LEDs is pointing to a motherboard fault. In all likelyhood the harddrive will remain useable in another machine or in an external case that you can buy for little money.

If it works intermittently then you have a "dry joint" issue somewhere on the board, likely caused by a severe overheat. Unless you can get a repairer to identify this quickly it will not be a cheap fix.

Worst case, if you are not able to repair yourself, I would remove and keep the hard drive and place the laptop on Ebay etc where you can recoup your money and put towards a new purchase.

Often when turning on my computer it would boot up but then go into the blue screen which indicates that there is problem with hardware or software. (XP) It would then usually reboot without any problem....

Hello:

just make new format for your hard drives . but before that you need to back up your data on an external hard drive .
after formatting just install fresh copy of your OS.

good luck

Blue lines on dell lap top inspiron

Check whether blue lines are present in bios screen, if Present then Hardware issue

If Blue line not present in bios screen, Software issue = Restore system back to factory settings

Connect External Monitor, use Fn + F8 to extend display on external Monitor ,

if display is fine on Ext Monitor = Replace LCD Kit

if Blue lines are displayed, on Ext Monitor = Replace Motherboard

Computer not booting -> Blue Screen

You can try running a repair on the operating system, but the hard drive could be damaged. If so, the repair will fail. Hopefully the hard drive is the only thing broken.

A blue screen is an operating system error. this can be caused by either a corrupt operating system or a failed hard drive. What you will need to do is run a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the repair doesn't take then reformat the hard drive and install a fresh operating system. If you have any issues during or after the format or install, then the hard drive has failed and will need replaced.

Blue screen

A blue screen means operating system error. Your operating system will have to be either repaired or reinstalled using your recovery disc or operating system disc. A blue screen can also occur with a hard drive failure/crash. It's about 50/50 between system error and hard drive failure. If you have any issues or problems during or after the repair/reload of the operating system, then it's the hard drive and it will need to be replaced.

Shut down - performing physical dump

Hi, Blue screen is most of the time a hardware issue. Seems like either hard drive or memory is faulty. More like your hard drive though. Try to get it tested at a repair shop before it totally fails. Test the memory first to verify it's ok. If it's ok, then it could be your hard drive. You might or might not need a new hard drive but at this stage, if you get a new one you might be able to copy the data off this failing drive. If you wait longer, the problem is only getting worse and it could lead to total data loss. Good Luck, Lolita
