Question about Gateway 2520915 Keyboard

2 Answers

Multifunction keyboard My keyboard also fails to work sometimes when I bootup. Usually re-booting solves the problem, but, it keeps coming back. Also my shift key repeats at the slightest touch sometimes and puts || in front of letters. Replace driver, no fix. Gateway tech suggested a "Destructive Restore" like I'm gonna do that!

Re: Multifunction keyboard

Gateway also suggested a destructive restore for the shift key repeat problem. I told them that was the dumbest fix I had ever heard of. They finally sent me a new keyboard, but I still get the interment dead keyboard problem. I just Restart and it good for a couple of days.

Does your computer start up? Can you get in BIOS pressing DEL or F!?
If not, probably your keyboard stopped working. Computer won't start up without a keyboard. so you should ge a new keyboard
If it starts up, you can set BIOS, then you've got a bootup issue. In best case it's just some boot file, wors case, your hard disk.
It is not possitble to tell what's happening without more information

After connecting Bluetooth and turning on keyboard the blue light keeps flashing and the keyboard does not work

What kind of keyboard is it? Brand or model? Usually these are somewhere on the bottom of the keyboard or right on the front.

Sometimes it helps to completely power off the keyboard and try again, this means removing the battery from the keyboard and try to pair it with your computer.

If you aren't sure how to pair your keyboard with your computer that's where knowing what type of keyboard you have comes into play. Usually there is a button on the bottom to press for it to let your computer know it's available. Sometimes you have to do something else like press a certain combination of buttons.

Enable keyboard

First, make sure it is plugged in. If it is a USB type, try the other USB ports on the computer to see if one or more ports have failed.

Still no luck? Try differen USB ports each time you boot up. During the boot, enter the computer's BIOS or Set Up area (usually pressing DEL, F1 or some other key). Check for setting regarding keyboard and keyboard type. Make sure they are enabled. If nothing works, the keyboard may be broken - not disabled. Try with another keyboard instead.

Dell sk-8115 not recognized on boot up. After soft boot it works

hi im Dyanne.. on th 1st screen at bootup press th desired key to display th BIOS setup. on some machines you will see a brief notice on th screen as it comes to life stating which key to press. (ie. delete, F2 or esc etc) if not consult your instruction manual. you will get to a blue screen headed CMOS. now you need to setup th BIOS to recognize th presence of th new h/d. this will enable you to auto detect th h/d. go to th 1st in th list (cmos settings) and where it says PRIMARY MASTER click on it and enter and this will auto detect it. press F10 then Y and enter. this will now access your h/d and boot normally. good luck and merry christmas .. Dyanne xx

Inspiron 1525 keyboard and touchpad locked at bootup. Unable to enter user password to load Vista. HELP!

My friend has one of these and I really Dont know why but VIsta is always the Operating system that causes this.
Try this: at the log in screen press the F9 key see if it unlocks. unfortunately i doubt that that worked but hey it was a try
try this: at the bottom of your laptop there should be a lever that releases the battery (remove the battery) leave it out and use your power cord only to boot the system. that usually works for me.
Hope that fixes your problem. Thanks for posting on
