Check this website out. It has a good questions and answers section. I would guess that it is the water inlet valve in the washer, but it could be a few different things.

I know of a different site that has good prices on parts. I have ordered from them numerous times. Let me know if you need that link.

Check your lid switch. The symptoms of your washer stopping at the rinse cycle is a commonly caused by a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug. If you determine the switch to be defective, the following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3557193-replacing_a_lid_switch

On some models, the lid switch is located under the top casing by one of the lid hinges. You will know if you if you have this type of switch, because It does not have a lid strike and the small hole on the right hand side of the wash tub will not be present. This switch is actuated (toggled) by a rod on the lid hinge. With this type of switch, if you locate it and it can be toggled by hand, you may only need to adjust the actuator by bending it slightly.

A replacement lid switch (if required) can be purchased at any of the following web sites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The average price is about $20 - $30. Prices differ between these sites, so shop and compare. If you still have questions, please let me know. If the suggestions I have listed do not match your washer symptoms, please post back and elaborate more on what the washer is/is not doing so I can provide you with better assistance. Please include your model number (located on a nameplate along the wash tub rim under the lid) so that I may be able to assist you better. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Whirlpool heavy duty commercial washer, mod# CAM2742TQ0. Washer does not fill all the way on rinse cycle set on large load.

The service manual shows this machine as a timed water fill. When the washer is filling in rinse, is the flow strong? If not, check the screen on the water valve at the hose connection. If clogged, you can try and clean it with an old tooth brush and a spray water bottle. If not clogged, there are two water level switches. You could have an issue with the high level switch.

I have a roper heavy duty extra large capacity washer the water comes into the machine fine but runs out just as fast, it won't fill up.

Go direct to the maker. This sounds like the pump is running continuously, or do you mean it empties on the floor?

If the latter, a hose has come adrift or split/perished?

Ultimate care supreme leaks underneath

First check the hoses to the machine. If they leak the water follows the hoses and drips on floor. Also check the hose connection at the washer. They will leak inside. Next it may well be a water pump going out or the plastic hose that is under pressure when operating. The pump is in the middle of machine underneth - Sorry - Good luck

Kenmore Heavy Duty Washer Leaking from bottom

Probably the drain pump seal has gone bad.
Check it for leaks.
If your floor is good and level look for water near the front center of the machine.

28+ year old- Speed Queen Heavy Duty top loader

It sound like you drain hose is siphoning off the rinse water, It needs a standpipe make sure the drain hose is at about the height of the top of the washer, Make sure the drain hose isnt stuck in the drain it also needs an air cap. the drain hose should not lay on the floor to run to the drain

Please let me know if this doesnt solve your problems

Kenmore heavy duty 70 series extra capacity

This could be from a few things. First test. Turn on the washer to fill it up about 3/4 the way. Now turn it back off. Does the water stop? No? You probably have a bad water valve. Replace it. Yes? Listen for the sounds of running water or look for water on the floor. Do you see/ hear this? Yes? Your pressure hose has probably come off, reattach it. If it does turn off and there is not further sounds or leaking water, you probably need to replace your pressure switch.
