Look at the bottom where the charger typically goes, does it look GREEN?. If it's take a DRY tooth brush and brush out all the green stuff. Restart phone and see if it went away. Good luck.

I have an LG LG-VX8300 cell phone. It's stuck on ''car kit'' and I can't use it. I have no idea how it got on ''car kit''. How do I fix it?

I can almost guarantee that if you look closely at the contact pins in your charging port, you will find they are either slightly (or extremely) corroded, or bent out of shape. Try cleaning the contacts with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol.

"Car Kit" is a device that you plug into the charging port of an LG phone for hands-free use. If you are not using a device of this nature, and still see "Car Kit" displayed, it means that you got the phone wet or otherwise damaged the charging port.

you can also try resetting the phone
#1) press soft key for menu
#2) then press 0
#3) you'll have a service code prompt, type 000000
#4) then type 2 (it should be field tests)
#5) then type 4 (clear errors)
#6) choose yes for clear errors
#7) press clear once
#8) type 1 (Service Prg)
#9) choose ok soft button (in the middle) all the way through until the end. Then the phone will reset.

My LG Voyager seems to be stuck in car kit mode, it did not get wet, (I read alll the blogs on getting wet is cause and the verzion rep said thats what it was, however, it didnt get wet, I copmpared the...

I just had this same problem. It is a hardware issue. Call verizon back explain the situation, they will call your phone to verify that the mic and speaker aren't working and they will send you a replacement within 2 days.

A temporary solution is plugging a wired headset into the phone and taking it out, it will work for a few hours.

Phone stuck on car kit

you got your phone wet somehow. Take some electrical contact cleaner and spray it on a toothbrush. next clean the charging port on the bottom of the phone. Or another possibility is that you have damaged the pins on your charging port. Sounds like it might be time for an upgrade. good luck.

Getting an error that says car kit on phone

Mine said car kit and I kept reading it was because it got wet, and my phone didn't get wet. I noticed a little corrosion where I plug the phone in starting to form and I rubbed a little off and the car kit on the main screen went away.

Have you have gotten the phone wet in some way or the other? Try blowing out the data port on the bottom of the phone with some kind of compressed air.

Car kit mode

Car kit mode is usually caused by debris in the phone's cable connector (at the bottom of the phone). The debris causes two or more contacts to be electrically connected to each other, causing the phone to think it's connected to a car kit. Remove the battery from the phone and clean the cable connector contacts with some rubbing alcohol and the corner of a towel. Also, try using an opened paperclip to scrape the contacts in the connector, this will remove any corrosion that may have built up.

Vx8300 stuck in car kit

I just ran into this problem myself (besides that fucked up white main screen i have). So after reading all these other solutions i played with the thing and found that its one of the right-most pins in the charging port. Probabily a pin touching the metal housing or another pin completes the same electrical circuit used to determine if a car kit is hooked in. I figured this one by shoving a knife through the opening to clear out any debris and every-swipe made the "car kit" banner dissappear. so check for pins touching something it shouldn't. ( i said F-it and ripped that pin out!)

Hope this helps more

Cell Phone LG VX3450

Well from my experiences, and I manage a wireless store, you have gotten the phone wet in someway. It could have been anything from just sitting in the sun or being in the bathroom when you take a shower. You may try putting the phone in a bag of white rice for 8 hours or so and that could make it come out of car kit.
