Question about Philips ProScreen 4100 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

Fuse holder I found where the fuse is on the 4100 projector and it is broken. It looks lik the fuse burned out and when it did it melted the plastic piece that holds the fuse. I have an extra fuse but the holder is no good. Does anyone have an old 4100 they don't need that they can take the fuse holder from and send to me?

How to know when a fuse is burned in my lg microwave?

By looking at it, if the metal strip is melted/broken the fuse is bad. Using a VOM to test it. Remove one side of the fuse from the holder, put one lead on each side of fuse. meter indicates 0.00 fuse is good, meter reading does not change fuse is bad. Electonis fuses can only be checke with a meter not visualy.

How do you know if you blow a fuse? i replaced my bulb and when i plugged back in i got a bit of a spark at the plug recepticle and now i get nothing... any ideas?

Well if you have blown a Fuse/Tripped a Circuit Breaker, FIRST, TURN OFF THE MAIN POWER SWITCH. Now, If a Breaker, simply flip the lever, the "other way" or, press the button, on the Breaker to "Reset" it. If a Fuse, you will have to withdraw the Fuse from the "Holder" and look to see if the Fuse Wire is intact.. a Blown Fuse will have the wire broken/melted. You then, effect repair by simply using a length of the correctly rated, Fuse Wire. Replacement Fuse Wire will be of different thicknesses, for different Current Ratings, usually, 5 Amps, 10 Amps, 15 Amps, & 20 Amps. Simply wrap one end of the Wire, around the contact, at one end, or if screw connection, then under there, wrap clockwise, then, .make it go through the little hole/slot in middle, and then, wrap it around the screw, or other end contact Then replace Fuse, turn back on the Power. Always do all this with nothing plugged into the power socket too..

Just stopped working. No LED. Changes the Lamp no fix! ANy clues

The first generation of the IN72 / IN74 / IN76 projectors had a power supply problem where a fuse on the P/S was under-rated. The 1amp fuse was subsequently replaced with a 2.5amp fuse to correct the problem. The reworked units have heat-shrink tubing over the fuses whereas the older 1amp fuses are bare. The fuse is located under the heatsink, about center of the board.

There could be a lot of issues here. It sounds like you may have a short somewhere. You need to check everything with a multimeter, and possibly replace the fuse block or other wiring.

I wanted to replace the starter fuse and I can not detach it from

So, not enough description, however, I suspect that the holder has melted...

A starter has too high voltage for a fuse, in my opinion. I prefer to use fusable links in this type of application. A fusable link is a special wire that will burn out at too much amperage draw, but will normally last much longer, if it ever fails....

What you want is protection from burning wires, and the link will do that.
