Microwave turntable will not turn

Microwave works fine but turntable does not turn

I am not sure what the "terminal control" is. The plastic center piece turns readily in both directions. I tried turning the microwave off for 1 hour. The turntable still does not turn when the microwave is on.

We ended up removing the case from the microwave, found the little motor and replaced it. The turntable works fine now. The biggest hurdle was removing the security torque screws that held the casing in place. Thanks for the help.

When you can't adjust the power level, there's probably a defective triac (a type of electronic voltage control) or a problem on one of the circuit boards.

The motor or power to the motor may have quit , you would need to be able to check the motor and power circuit for it
if the platistic piece spins free , then it is not a motor or power problem and will need to be looked at to see what has happend
can you do this or will you need the assistance from an electronic repair shop?

Off the microwave oven.remove all the utensils if present inside.and then remove the plate carefully as its made up of glass and can break so keep it properly.below the plate in the lower area you can see the tiny wheels attached to the plastic material.check out that tiny wheels are they worn out or looks like cracked or broken from somewhere.if not no then they r not adjusted properly to rotate frequently.just try to rotate it manually if it rotate properly then place the plate on in.then ON the unit and check it should work thanks.

Remove the plate and check the gears underneath, many models have a belt or a dented gear that may be out of place.

    See this diagram: Counter top

The turntable gear has notches that must fit with the wheel dents, you find this gears under the plate.

Check if the gears are well in place.

When there is no problem in there, that means that the turntable motor is gone and must be replaced, this is a quite delicate operation and should be done by a technician.

Check also: The carousel won't turn

I am not sure either about the meaning of check the terminal control. Probably the expert comment was directed to a different appliance and problem. Sometimes this happens.

From description it looks more and more like there is need to replace the turntable motor.

You can buy replacement parts from Vance baldwin, or call support using this form.

If everything cooks as normal but the turntable does not turn then I would say that either the turntable motor has failed or the supply for the motor, either way this is not a problem you could fix yourself & so I would recommend taking to a microwave repair centre or service engineer.

Your description seems to be confusing turntable and light do not work
Bulb and motor OK
No power to light or turntable

Which is it?

They could be separate incidents. The drive motor could be fused and the globe just blew its life away..

Probably its open circuit or the power to it has been interrupted on the inside. Needs an inspection to be sure.
