I have the Krups combo model #xp2070. I am on my 2nd one and have the same problem. When frothing the milk the 1st week, it works perfect and after a week or so, it will not froth and the steamer makes the loud noise as though the water ran out but it did not. The water tank is in securely. I called the company and they thought it to be weird and maybe the place I bought it got a bad batch. I feel it is something easily fixed, what are the odds it happens in 2? It heats the milk but doesn't froth it. any suggestions?

- Yes, it is used properly as it does work at 1st. This is the 2nd machine I am on and i am still w/in my 30 days so I am about to make 1 more attempt at a replacement. What are the odds that 3 have this problem? Thanks for the help!

- I am looking to get a combo machine, which would you suggest?
Ensure first that you are using the steam pipe in the correct way to froth the milk.
If it still does not work, that means that the steamer is not generating enough pressure steam.
This happens either because there is not enough heat, or if you release the steam when pressure is not enough.
If you think you are doing everything in the right way, then contact the company and insist for having the machine fixed or replaced.

- The odds that 3 have same problem is quite scarce, but bear also in mind that Krups are not the best at frothing milk, and this is also a basic model.
If you want the best capuccino Coffee machine, buy the italian ones, Gaggia, Delonghi, Ariete etc. that are all great at this, or get a bigger Krups as a replacement like the Krups XP405040 that is also good at capuccino

Hi, I just purchased the Krups XP1500 Coffee and Espresso Combi Machine. The coffee side works great but the espresso side has severe problems. It took 30 minutes (I timed it) for barely enough expresso to fill the bottom of the glass carafe (I wanted to make 2 cups and did NOT pack the grinds too tightly as instructed). Next as a test I ran enough water to make 4 cups of expresso through the machine WITH NO GRINDS AT ALL. 28 minutes later barely a quarter of an inch of water had made it through the machine into the carafe. After this I tried to steam milk ? it was a joke. What?s the story with this machine? I?m sorely disappointed with it?s performance and bought it because I have other Krups products that I like a lot.

I fill the 2-cup thing full to almost the rim, then mash it in using the circle on the end of the scoop thingy. I learned not to smash too hard, as my machine doesn't like that. After it has warmed up, I put the espresso "bowl" thing with the handle onto the machine, locking it in place. I then hit the 1-cup button, and less than 1 shot of espresso comes out before it beeps several times, and the lights flash on and off repeatedly. It seems angry when it does this. I wait a couple minutes, then try again, and finally get a full shot of espresso. What am I doing wrong? I'm just trying to get a double-shot, but it now barely gives me 1. I even replaced the little metal cup thing with a new one, no change. I switched to pre-ground espresso in case it was the grind being too fine, but still not better. Did I buy a bad machine???
