Question about GE Profile Spacemaker Over-the-Range Microwave
The micro still works, but the turntable tries to turn and maybe gives a few jerks. It also makes a reasonable noise while on. When I turn the turntable off in the settings, it still heats, but without the nasty noise. Is it a gear, motor, belt - something like that? Is this a do it your self job? The micro is off the wall now, so easy to access .
First of all , before replacing the motor you need to check the gears underneath the turntable, if the turntable run for a while, then it is not necessarily the motor.
Secondarily, if you do not have experience in servicing, taking apart, and fixing home appliances, then bear in mind that replaceing the turntable motor on a microwave it is an operation that should be performed by a technician rather than by a home user.
