Oki Microline 320 turbo alarm light

Hi

THe alarm light keeps going off when I turn it on. Has been doing this for a week. I changed ink yesterday. Usually just rethread the paper this is not working. The icon says it is out of paper. It is not. Took it apart blew it out, rethread the paper, redid the ink cartridge and still an alarm light...any other suggestions. WOrking on downloading the manual,.,

Ok update manual says the lever is in the wrong position. Moved the lever turning the printer off and on with each move. 2nd time through the possible solutions the alarm light went off. The printer works when I shut it off at night, I change nothing and yet it will not work in the morning. Any tips are still welcome....thinking about leaving it turned on all the time. ????

No LEDS flashing just the alarm light flashes.

    Please clarify you said

If it is set correctly, there might be an obstruction on the printer top cover that interferes with the cover sensors. This forces the printer to think that the lid is still open and will signal it as you have described.

Where would I find this? Have taken just about everything apart cleaned it and put it back together just like I did my old one. No lid that I am aware of.....

If the printer worked one day and stopped working after turned off/on, you most probably have a bad paper sensor. This is basically a switch that is no longer working, therefore cleaning will no fix it. Determining which one is actually bad is difficult, so many places actually replace them all. I might be able to get you the part numbers if you really want to try it out. But be aware that this is only an educated guess, your unit might have another issue involved.

Be blessed.

First, make sure that paper feed switch is set accordingly to the paper path you are using (rear feed, bottom feed or friction). If you make a change, turn the unit off and on.

If it is set correctly, there might be an obstruction on the printer top cover that interferes with the cover sensors. This forces the printer to think that the lid is still open and will signal it as you have described.

The last option will be a damage to the sensors or to the mainboard. This is rare, but if the case, you need a repair center.

Be blessed.

There is now ink in the machine. You just have to replace the print ribbon. This is the small black box that is mounted to the printhead.

I have oki microline 320 elite and printer head jams

In my own experience, Okidata printers have a nasty habit of collecting a lot of paper dust. To start out, I would suggest a really good cleaning, with no paper in the machine, with a can of compressed air. If that does not solve your problem, you might have to replace your feed wheel assembly. Hope this helps!

Alarm light Microline 320 Turbo 9 pin printer - won't print

We swapped out the printer for another one we had in the office that was working. The new printer also got the alarm light. From that we concluded that it was a bad serial card. We swapped the serial card from another printer, and the original printer started working perfectly. Now we just need to find out where we can purchase another serial card, as we have no more 'spares' around here.
