Saunier duval isofast f35e condens boiler is making loud vibrating kind of sound when hot water tap is turned on. Could this be the fan? Boiler is 15 months old

I have the same problem. My boiler is also 15 months old, and everytime you use the hotwater the pipes bang. Also sometimes there is no hot water at all only tepid and the heating comes on by itself, although it is not timed to and the eco temp is set at 6 degrees. AND it loses pressure quite often and forget using a tap and having a shower at the same time. Plumber been out twice, the problems are getting longer with this boiler.

SOURCE: Vaillant Ecotec combi boiler -

David,

The fact that you're getting a little burst of domestic hot water suggests that the boiler is capable of circulating hot primary loop water through the heat exchanger, but doesn't necessarily do so when it needs to.

What seems to be lacking is a recognition that domestic hot water is now being drawn off, and that the boiler needs to fire up and divert the primary flow through the heat exchanger.

A good place to start might be the flow switch (usually in the bottom of the boiler, where the cold water supply comes in) or the electrical connections to it.

SOURCE: boiler making a loud hissing

sounds like a stuck expansion valve, the compressor makes pressure, but it can't be released to absorb heat from the desired environment. You could go to the manufacturer's website, request a detailed diagram of your system, find the expansion valve and order a new one. Can you put it in yourself and recharge the system? Probably not, call a repairman.

SOURCE: hi,i have a vaillant turbomax

I had this. Open up the main case, take the second inner case front off to expose the boiler.

Clean the thermocouple which detects the flame being lit with some steel wool held with needle nose pliers. It will be all sooty and will turn off the gas as a safety precaution if it does not detect heat fast enough.

Don't listen to the gas man who will say "needs a new circuit board mate" as this is usually a stock response.

SOURCE: Repressurise Potterton Performa 24 boiler

hope this is helpful. On my potterton 24 combi boiler it is the valve that sits the lowest, with a slight indent in the black tap. if you turn this for a short period you will hear a hiss and the pressure will quickly build to the desired pressure, when you can them turn the tap back off.

Ideal response combi boiler model 120 loud vivrating / high pressure/ zero pressure

the low pressure issue is most likely the expansion vessel needs repressuring because the valve has leaked and is not seating properly so causing water leak outside.- with the pressure on zero, drain about 1/2 bucket out, mine had a exit tap near the inlet tap, then attach a car pressure gauge/ pump to the top of the orange exp vessel. pump it up to about 1.5 bar, that should do it..you may have to do this 2 or 3 times..
re loud rumbling sound, mine had this too, and at around the same time ! heres how to fix it..
BGas engineers are lazy, and unless you watch em like a hawk they lie about changing a part...mine had this loud noise problem and its caused by the gas being deflected out, because it has not been ignited by the spark electrodes, and the rubbish boiler doesnt detect this quick enough, so some gas gets out ..You may be able to smell some gas too. The cover is supposed to stop this, but it dont.

with power isolated, all you have to do is carefully remove the fan, and then the burner, and then dry it, clean it, and adjust the electrodes, 5mm gap between the pair of spark electrodes, and 7mm gap to the cone. and 7mm for the sensor electrode. Mine had a bit of water, i think its from the condensation coming back down the flue ? because the exchanger looked ok.

Also be careful of knocking the sensors and wires, and also check if these are ok as well.
This is a very common issue and nobody tells you

I have a vulcan continental boiler , heating system , and its not fireing up , i think there is air in the system , whats the best way in to bleeding it out ?

Air in what system?--
The Circulating 'Hot' water?-- or in the fuel? (What kind of fuel?)

Normally a hot water boiler will fire, as long as ther is water in the boiler,
So-- are you suspecting there is Low water in the boiler?
Can yo hear the water circulating thru the water pump?-- is the water pump running?

Tell us more about what happens when you first give it a call for heat?
Do any fans or valve try to start?-- any indicator lights?

Tell us some of the obvious things, and maybe there is a clue in something you tell us or observe.

We seem to have developed a problem with our boiler, worcester 20/25 heatsave. Every time we turn on a hot water tap, when we turn the tap off, there apears to be a loud noise from the boiler or pipes for...

it seams the valve that senses water flow is not operating properly, causing the boiler to keep heating the water when it has nowhere to go,i,e the taps turned off, thus boiling the water.

Vaillant combi boiler problem

when the tap is turned on and the water light on the boiler doesn't this means the diverter valve is not operating it could be down to low water pressure in the house this can be checked at the cold tap in the kitchen. if there is plenty of pressure then it could be the diagphram in the diverter valve is worn or split. the diagphram is only a few pounds but it depends on the engineer you get as to how much money he wants to fit it.
the egg timer symbol (or two pyramids together) is an ignition indicator turn off and on again to see if it will fire with the tap running. reset the boiler with the lower right hand control knob.

Boiler bangs when hot water used

You need to install a "water hammer arrestor" they can be found at any local plumbing supply house.

If you can find one with "Shark bite" fittings already installed then there will be no need for soldering or special tools other than a tubing cutter.

Vaillant boiler (VCW GB 221) not heating up water or heating although the pilot is lit. Pump is heard working okay but there is small drips of water underneath boiler. Any idea's?

The movement of the diverter valve is critical on this appliance, and is located on rear right of the boiler, when hot water is turned on, theres are two microswitches, which must break (they both close in Central heating mode), if pump is running, it is recognising the hot water demand, check microswitches are breaking, if not, it tends to be a defective servo valve (located above the water valve), or a blocked/ restricted control line (small copper tubes which connect into the servo valve)
