Try to reset the router. This should resolve your problem. That model has a small hole were you must press with some a paper clip for exemple for a few seconds. This will reset the router to its original state.

I have done that myself a couple times but its not too hard to do. if you open up the internet explorer and go up to the address bar of the browser and type in 192.168.1.1 I think that is the router address it should take you the linksys set up page or whatever it is. The default user is linksys and the password is admin. if that gets you into the set up up the router there is a tab that is there under administration I think and there is a page that will take you the through the steps to reset your router completely back to the way it came from linksys. resets the passwords option and all back to normal. good luck
To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press
the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and power it up. Hold the
RESET button for 30 secs. Connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to your computer's LAN port, open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL. http://192.168.1.1 The default login = admin The default PW = admin You can now go to the wireless settings. If you have forgotten your password you can reset the router to its factory state and setup a new password for it. Resetting the router will wiped out all changes that have been saved. To reset the router, look for the small hole at the back of it. Press and hold it for 10-15 seconds using a Pen or Paperclip. Then access the router settings page so that you can personalize the settings.
For you to access your router you need a working computer that is connected to the router and open a browser type 192.168.1.1 to he address bar and it will ask you for a username and password. The default username is "leave it blank" and the default password is admin.
Hi, what you need to do is this. IF you have NEVER set a password, then the default password will be the active one, and that is admin for login and admin for password.
However IF you have set a password and forgotten, then you need to remove the router from the power and reset the router via the reset button, usually in small hole at rear. Then power up again and use the default login and password, as before admin admin.
Now once you are logged into the router, then it is a simple matter to change the password to whatever you need, and then save the settings.
You didn't indicate the make and model of your router, I advise you to find a manual online and have a look in that just to make sure you have it all OK.
simply go to Google search, and type in the exact make and model and the word manual... this then will produce links to download a manual.
EG: Linksys 1234A manual
Are you trying to set up router ?
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem. If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine. You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router. open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

was the router used by previous users? or did you buy it? if it was used then it was probably configured for different ISP. You don't need any CD. Just connect to the router via your browser (probably http://192.168.1.1) and adjust settings in WAN section.
