Help, video hardware error

Hello,

Good day to you sir, hope you doin fine...
i got a problem with my acer aspire notebook quite semilar with ih8acernow but not as complicated as it seems. It's like the fisrt stage of his problem as stated on his post.
My screen will turned completely black in about 10 minutes when I'm watching a movie/video from the internet with the full screen mode but i can still hear the audio from it. It aslo occurs when I'm having a video chat using skype or yahoo messenger, it will suddenly stopped or froze then the screen turns black yet i can still hear the person on the other side and they can still see me, weird...
I can't do anything, except restarting my computer.... long press the power button then the windows starts at the safe mode.
Reports Problem and Solution gave me some of the available solution of my problem but unfortunately nothing seems to work.
I did try to update my display adapter which is NVIDIA geforce through windows automatic update and on the NVIDIA website itself but it says that i have the latest driver installed. I tried the windows hardware error tools, checking for error on my disk, nothing. I did System Restore countless times already.
Its been four months now, i got this problem on the first week.

Yes!! firstly consider the power saver issue located in the display setting.. its located in the control panel or simply right click on the desktop and select properties or personalize. it that fails please let me know and we can proceed further!!!.

This seems like a windows power saver issue. One of the many settings for windows power options is the option of how long to remain idle before turning the monitor off. Issue is that XP and Vista both have issues recovering from this state. First solution to try is to turn off this setting. In either XP or Vista the power options can be accessed from either control panel or on the Screen Saver secton of the desktop personalization.

Acer aspire one crystal eye webcam don't work worked for 5 min then quit can't find on computer at all


Mine was a hardware issue after many wasted days trying to figure this out.

I tried everything but I fixed it with a hardware fix.

The Netgear WG111 USB Wireless Lan Adapter is a decent WiFi LAN adapter. It is reasonably priced and it's software is easy to install. I've been using it for a few years and it works fine.

Acer Aspire 5315 micro dont work after installing Windows 7 :(

There might be a hardware compatibility problem with Windows 7 and the microphone driver. The following two web sites might offer information that can better help to find a possible solution.

1). The Microsoft Windows 7 Hardware Compatibility List. It can only be viewed with Internet Explorer.

hello sir,

Its a common problem with all the Acer Camera enabled laptop's. even its the same case with mine.

Dnt worry sir, moving ur lapptop not only form one room to another but from country to another wont boz any harm. well to fix the problem u just, try installing Suyin driver, 2-3 times.

I did 4times , n on 4th time I got it.

its my personnal experince sir.

Acer aspire video hardware error


Hi,

I just wanted to take a moment and acknowledge your request. It sounds to me, on first instinct, that your video encoder/decoder software components may be or probably is faulty and or just not up to date. A hardware video display adapter such as your Nvidia Geforce Go also has a video encoder/decoder chip. Either one or these two, both dependent on the other, may be at fault. I'll send you a link later with a package to download and install that will update your encoder/decoder set. This set of software instructions installs as a package and is not usually available from MS update or from Nvidia as an update. Why this continues to be so baffles all we techs. Fortunately the package is free and published by members of the free software open source movement.

Just realized that this *still*, may be a hardware fault where your laptop is trying ot go into screen saver or monitor blank as a power saver and is failing at the point where it should realize you have an open tunnel on the IP band that Skype and IM programs use. By failing to recognize you are using display resources while Windows is otherwise not busy, that when Windows wants to initiate a Screen Saver mode or blank the display driver this *failure*on Windows part to Check for Open Applications is also likely to be at fault. This error is hardware related and thus causes the system *hang up*. If it were at the software level, you'd just loose your tunnel session in IM or on Skype and you'd have to restart the app.

It is not easy to express this issue as I see it in general terms. So, I apologize it you are confused. I'll find the encoder/decoder package and post that to you a bit later after I get some more data from you. Would you tell me if you have Vista or XP and what SP version you have? Press these two keys at the same time to have this info displayed, "Windows Key" + "Pause" key. You'll also see info on your notebook builder and how much RAM you have onboard.

Do you also have an independent Memory Manager running? And, what are your Screen Saver setting, and what screen saver runs, then what is your Power Scheme setup? Do you have monitor off set for something similar to the duration of your screen blanking? Often there are setting for this not only in the Windows Control Panel Display module but also, when you startup your laptop you can press Del, F2 or F10 what ever hint you see in the upper area of the screen during bootup for a key press to enter System Settings. In side the system settings is a page where you can set display time outs for battery savings. Check those and see what those numbers are and send those to me also.

Then, if this weren't enough, Acer has this EPower module, usually displayed as a green bar or stripe in your system tray where the digital clock is located. EPower steps down the processor (CPU) clocks depending on your task. It can actually step down your processor speed to as much as 700MHz. This EPower module is rather infamous for causing problems for apps that need full processor speed... much like what you are wanting to do.
