I have the same problem now when I start my computer; the following message appear: "The procedure entry point aspGetInterfaceCount could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll" followed by: "The procedure entry point apsInitilize could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll" I simply have been clicking on the X in the upper right hand of the message block or the CANCEL button. Why are these messages appearing and what should I do to get rid of them?

Operating on Windows XP. Family tree maker8 won't open

1.Requires it to be run in Windows XP Compatibility mode.
2.Ftm.exe is not signed aka doesn't have a publisher prompting user account controls in Windows 8. (Security issue)

Compatibility mode for FTM 2012 in Windows 8:
1.From desktop, right mouse click on FTM Icon on the taskbar
2.Hover over "Family Tree Maker 2012" and right mouse click again to get Properties
3.Click on Properties
4.Choose Compatibility tab
5.Under "Compatibility mode", check box "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" Side note: after utilizing "Run compatibility troubleshooter" this is the resolution I got.
6.Click okay and test to see if program opens properly.

Note: due to the ftm.exe not having publisher info, each time I open file, I get security prompt to allow unknown publisher to make changes to my computer. Family Tree Maker must address this issue.

I have American Greetings CreataCard Platinum 6. Windows 7 will not complete it. Sometimes I can skip quickly and get it to make a card but it is definitely not responding properly. What can i do? I...

You are may need to use compatibility mode for this program. It was originally intended for use on windows 98/Me/2000 and XP. To set compatibility mode to any of those operating systems, right click on the American Greeting shortcut (the icon you click to start the program) and select "properties". Now look for the "Compatibility" tab and click on the check box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and in the drop down box, select "Windows XP (Service pack 2)" Or, "windows XP (Service pack 3). If there is no service pack options for windows xp, that's fine. After you made your selection, press ok. If the program works, you're set. If not, go back and change the compatibility mode operating system to another choice such as "Windows 98" or "Windows 2000". Try each one and see what works for you.

When I download Flipshare software for the first time I get a message reading That there is a problem with this installation package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run,...

try to check your hard disc for errors, you do it in this way ; Highlight your hard drive (normally it is C:), you find it in My Computer, right click on it and choose properties, select the second tab and choose "check this drive for errors", apply all the possibilities and press ok and restart the computer. Let the program run and then try again.

For be completely sure then you have to download the setup file again and reinstall it, you do it in this way : remove the software in Add and Remove programs in Control Panel, reboot the computer and install it again.

Then try to run Ccleaner,
Please see my article here on how do you use Ccleaner :

Defragment you hard drive, you can use Defraggler here, that is better than windows own integrated :
Portable (USB, no install) version you find here :

Now you have done all the possibilities, and your computer should be in good condition, but only one thing here, Your are Running onservice pack 2 !!??, you should update your machine at least to service pack 3, you find the updates in Internet explorer under the feature Tools (Windows Update), select it and follow the instructions on the screen, then choose quick search here and install the updates it find. You need to run it until Windows Update write "there is no more updates/ 0 updates".

One last thing, Is it windows xp 64 bit you are running or 32 bit ??, not all the programs are running under 64-bit version

Hope that helps
IF NOT then try to return here
Have a nice time over there
